I'd be more than happy to provide a pic of my purple hose, but it's only on the outer 50' of the reel, the rest of hose under it is blue.

So I'm not sure that would work?........but if I took the pic from the back of van, square with the reel, you would only see the purple, so let me know if that works?

So should one close down for a week and carpet the van so it looks pretty, which has no bearing on profit. Or should one just keep cleaning and making happy customers while bustin crazy profit. Been doing this five years and never once had a customer ask to make their payment inside my van, or even care about the inside of my van.

I swipe cards, accept checks, and cash.  Not run a showroom inside my van.

BTW for a van that's seven years old with over 100k mikes and 5k hours that's a pretty unit.  Most look like crap at that point.

Oh, forgot to mention. I was paid a 15% tip from this customer when I took that picture. We were sitting on the front porch looking right into the van as the photo shows. I guess they really just like that the carpet is beautiful. OCD is not for me.

Well everyone is different, I certainly have extreme OCD level especially when it comes with the cleanliness and clutterness of the van, you would think that most customers don't pay attention but they do, I can't tell you how many times they walked up to me while I was unpacking or packing up and started a conversation and when they see the inside of the back of my van, they immediately commented, I'm not telling you or anyone to re-carpet or clean your van or whatever, hey it's a free country and it's your business and it's your van, do as you like but I'm just stating the point that people pay more attention than you think, if I'm not a cleaner and I'm hiring one I sure want to see their van and their equipments.
And don't be offended Ryan, I'm not judging you or your van whatsoever, there are much dirtier cleaning trucks out there but for me, if my tech come back with the back of the van looking like that, I would give him the final warning and have him clean it up and if that happens again, he'd be gone in a heart beat, y'all might think I'm harsh but when they get paid as good as they are, they better meet my operating standard, BUT that's me, like I said I'm not telling or judging anyone.

A few months ago I'd have to agreed with, Ryan.  But then I had a first time potential cust (a $500 job, so not the end of the world) want to come out and have a look in my van and see my equipment.  Normally I run pretty clean and organized, but on that day, a late Sat. afternoon I was in the middle of my new Eng swap and it was all a disaster, but he scheduled the job with me that day for the following week. The day before I was set to do the job he called to cancel, and I asked him "may I ask why you're cancelling"? He told me, "because he found someone with nicer and newer equipment"!

It was a first for me, and wouldn't have believed it until it happened!
I think that's a real rare occurrence, but I'm more aware now.

I do know from being told by some customers, that equipment brought into their house, condition is recognized and often commend on (I know different than the van).

I think as long as the hoses are clean and the wand isnt rusty and nasty looking like its been sucking poop then it portrays a good image.    

a van can be as old as ever but a customer will notice whether you take care of it or not.     doesnt matter if its 30 yrs old as long as it looks like you care about it.

I'm not offended. Just my opinion. Is rather spend my time working on profit, than riding in a showcase cleaning van. Also, I'm not a originized type person. I have order, but kinda fall off on the every tool has it's place way of thinking.
