Safety First
I was looking over photos of people's vans lately and I began to wonder a couple of things. With all the stuff that we carry with every inch being valuable, are we all still carrying safety items?
On my van, I carry a first aid kit mounted to a shelf and a fire extinguisher by the back door and next to the seats. I also have a shelf with tyvek suits, gas masks, goggles, chem. gloves, latex gloves, and some instant ice bags. I felt that I was doing pretty well on the safety part, but then I started thinking about the one thing missing....eye wash.
We use a lot of chemicals in this industry and many of them can damage your eyes pretty quick (peroxide being one of them), but we tend to forget that and just rely on latex gloves as our protective step when mixing brews. Be honest, how many of you wear goggles and gloves when mixing your sprays? I am guilty of getting lax and I should know better....so should you.
So, take a moment and toss a pair of goggles and mount a bottle of eye wash to your chemical shelf this holiday weekend. Someday it might save your eyes or the eyes of your employees.

Re: Safety First
Great reminder. Good point about the eye wash. I've got a small bottle in my first aid kit, but I doubt it would be that effective by the time I dug it out. An easily accessible eye wash kit where chems are mixed would be a great complement. Thanks brother.

Re: Safety First
I'm guilty of just having gloves. Although these days my attention needs to be more towards our employee safety. Good reminder and kick in the &$$.
