Furniture Stain
One of my guys put a bleeder - chair - back on a wet carpet yesterday without a tab. I had him go back today and use deep green on it. He was able to get about 80% of the stain out. Does anyone have any magic tricks to get the stain totally out? Thanks.
Re: Furniture Stain
Peroxide and odorless ammonia sometimes works. You can use a steam iron to accelerate the process. Also you can try a UV light, but that takes forever. Either way be careful not to bleach the carpet. Worse case bonded insert.
Re: Furniture Stain
The Deep Green took out 80%? I removed a furniture stain with it. Maybe I was just lucky on that one
Re: Furniture Stain
I have had some success with peroxide + ammonia and heat transfer. Be patience, do not saturate the area. Sometimes not 100%, nothing you can do about it.
Re: Furniture Stain
I'm just going to echo the other comments here, I would personally go there and take care of that myself to minimize damage and customer will be much happier that "the boss" comes down and take care of them personally, that's what I did last week with rust stains my guys left on the carpets ( can't blame them cause the chair legs were chrome buttons legs ) I wouldn't put plastic tab myself either but guess what, YOU SHOULD DO IT ALWAYS ! lol.
Back to the subject, I would spray peroxide first and let it dwell for a few minutes, then rinse, if no luck then try peroxide with ammonia, if that doesn't work try that again with iron this time, if that doesn't work, go to tannin stain remover, if that doesn't work, the final product I would try is the red release, after that if still doesn't work then like fuzz said patch them up.
Make sure that the stains are stains and not rust stains ( sometimes the wood leg has metal tab under them, if that's the case then you know what to use, good luck :-)

Re: Furniture Stain
you guys will laugh at me when I say this
but believe it or not folex pulls furniture stains really well.
I soak it hard and leave it until the end of the job then steam it out
it works, dont know really whats in folex,... it works for heavy dyes and varnish
some furniture stains just cant be removed by anything though, but my best success is with it

Re: Furniture Stain
Thank you for your suggestions. I tried the deep green again by itself - didn't budge the rest of the stain. Tried hydrogen peroxide very low dilution by itself - didn't work. Tried folex by itself - didn't work. Tried each one individually with steam iron - nothing... Mixed all three together on the stain, steamed, blotted, repeated four times - STAIN GONE, CUSTOMER VERY HAPPY

Re: Furniture Stain
It might have been half-joking, but I really like the name "Persistence" for a stain remover that gets after it in a shotgun fashion. Just like my favorite phrase "Chemical Blizzard" when you do the same thing with a prespray mixed suicide style (for those old enough to remember that fountain drink).
Glad it worked out for ya, feels good to be the hero.

Re: Furniture Stain
That's great you were able to get it out!
And interesting the Suicide Combo, is what did it.
