news is weird

not trying to start up the political discussions again, but just wondering what you guys think of these jounalist beheading videos..

imo they are completely fake and I think its weird they are all over the news. the guys about to get executed arent the slightest bit scared looking or worried

it shows the beginning of it, which there is no blood then it just fades to black screen.


the weirdest part being the guys arent scared at all that they are about to be brutally murdered. now the latest one released today just looks even faker than the first

Hard to say they are for sure fake. But easy to say I don't trust the media,

I find it very odd that a video showing the actual beheading can't be found. Also odd that the guy would say all those things against America knowing he was going to die any way.

I can't say for certain what is going one here, but it was common to "practice" acts like this by many terrorist groups. By that I mean this wasn't the first time the victim was put through this type of event. They probably dragged him through this many times as psychological torture, so the victim becomes conditioned to expect it is just another fake execution.

Only this time, it ends up being real.

Its a sad day. My prayers go out Steven Sotloff and his family.

I dont think anything sad happened Rod.    Watch the video,  is that really the face of a man about to be slaughtered?     I dont think so,    doesnt matter if your a navy SEAL anyone would be sweating and extremely nervous there,  probably vomiting etc  

his heart would be pounding,   super high blood pressure and in the video it doesnt even show any blood coming out.   fades to a black screen then shows what appears to be him dead but it also looks very fake


I think both of these supposed beheadings are staged

whether they are staged or not can be argued .  But what cant be argued is the inaccurate way the media is reporting on this.    Last night I saw one news report that referred to the "beheading video"    Kept taking about how the video  showed an execution,    a  beheading,   the "beheading video"    over and over.

Fact is the video doesn't show a beheading at all,       Now some are admitting that he wasn't beheaded in the video,   but still saying the guy was executed   at  a later date.   HOW  do they know?  

maybe he was , maybe he wasn't. Better get it right if we are going to have war over it.

The media has not reported facts from both sides, for a very long time. It is usually skewed facts and/or opinions.

Talking points, they all use them. facts be damned.

You might be surprised how people react to an execution though.  I was on an escort team for a Death Row execution and I expected the same thing as you...rapid pulse, fear, sweating, etc., but it didn't happen.  The only ones who were nervous seemed to be the guards.

The victim's reaction is all internalized, he may have accepted the situation or even looked forward to it as a "way out", just like a suicide victim.  I still think that these guys had endured this process dozens of times until they became conditioned to expect that it will always be just for show....that is why they are not displaying the fear.

The Russians like to use a trick in prison to tell a prisoner that he was being released.  They would give him new clothes, clean him up, tell him about how his family will be meeting him to pick him up, etc.  He gets his hopes up and then when he finds out that there is no release, only guards to take him back to segregation, his spirit is crushed.

It is a very evil yet very effective method to break a person down emotionally.  They may do that several times until the prisoner stops believing it and will often refuse release as a result.

If these be-headings were seen by the victims as just another fake execution, then they would react calmly and without the physical stress that one would expect.

Of course, it could also be a fake like many suggest.  I suppose even a fake execution would have the desired effect when a media is so eager to report on it.  Maybe the guy who directed the "Sopranos" is in charge over there?

Wasn't that guy in captivity for at least a year. Hi captives hate American so I'm sure they tortured him so much he would have taken his own life if given the chance.

I don't think there is a video out there that actually shows the decapitation. If you haven't seen one Don't. It will be burned in your mind forever. It's not a clean cut with a sword. They stick that knife in his neck and start cutting, its fricken sickening.

Now I know the US doesn't negotiate with terrorist and I understand why but It sucks that the families don't have a say in this. I think they probably had the means to pay it.
