Most unusual cleaning job.
How about we hear some war stories? One of the most unusual of my cleaning jobs has to be the upholstery and carpet in a nuclear submarine. Believe it or not they have carpet and upholstery too. For several years we would get periodic calls from Pearl Harbor requesting cleaning while the sub was in between patrols. Imagine running hoses across a gang plank and down the hatch. (Ladders only, down three levels. Close quarters with guys coming and going, low overhead tight passages). The carpet in the captains quarters was less than half the inside of my van. The galley was about twice that size. It was "stair tool only" style cleaning.
We also did a few of the fleet's surface ships a few times. Good fun.

Sounds interesting.
And I thought cleaning small bathrooms with carpet, Private boats/yachts, and RV's were tight quarters and a PITA.....can't imagine a Sub!!

Pictures weren't allowed. I always looked forward to getting on Pearl Harbor. Used to run with a retired W4 who was a survivor of the Bataan death march. He spent WWII in a Japanese prison camp. We would jog down the piers past the ships as well as on Hickam AFB. Had a job there once when president Clinton arrived. Since I was there anyway I stood in line to shake his hand. Before a bridge was built over to Ford island, we used to take the ferry over and jog all over the place.

Can you imagine living in those quarters for months at a time.
It's really sad when you visit the memorial and imagine what the saliors endured on those ships during the pearl harbot attacks.

It really hits home when you look at the crew list at the memorial and find your exact name listed on the wall. Sent a big chill up my back as I was deploying to Iraq the next day.
Cleaning a sub is a great claim to fame...can't top that one.
Re: Most unusual cleaning job.
How about another unusual job. I can't claim this for myself but for an employee several years ago. He went to an apartment and was met at the door by a young lady completely nude. He said she lounged on the couch, nude the entire time and payed him in one dollar bills. I wonder what she did for a living?

Back in the day ( late 80's) me and my buddy teamed up to clean John Delorean's estate. Big ass house. We cleaned everything. The credit card wouldn't go through, had to call him in NY,NY and get the number for a different one.
Re: Most unusual cleaning job.
I would have loved to been in that one just to see it. I have a Dr. client who is into exotic cars. He has a mansion up in the hills with enough garages to hold his collection. I dye the carpet from time to time. Lets see if I can name the cars from right to left in garages lining the main entrance. On the extreme left was a beautiful blue Bentley Continental GT, an older classy Rolls, one of the original Ford GT 40's with the little bump up over the drivers head. Next to it was the modern rendition Ford GT40, an couple of assorted Ferrari's filled the first garage. The garage on the right contained a little two seat Porshe race car that looked like a Ferrari Dino. I forget some of the other cars but he had a beautiful blue and white Maserati street legal race car. I forget what it is exactly but I know through connections he paid a pretty penny for it. Beautiful home and beautiful cars. You might think he might be a snob but he is the exact opposite. Nicest, most humble guy you can imagine. He actually drives them from time to time.
Some customers you just love to go to their home.
