The reason for waste tanks being metal is obvious, but what about the fresh water tank?

As a Butler guy, my tanks were always made of stainless, but I can't think of any good reason why it needs to be. In fact, I can think of some positives to poly tanks, so are metal tanks important?

I have my eye on a vertical poly tank that would only take up 28 inches of floor space and still hold 100 gallons.

for fresh water I have only used poly. works great, only problem that can happen is if sunlight is hitting it for too long.

not a big deal but youll start to get a little algae, it was a clear poly tank and sat for a while.

they are easy to clean and nice to see your water level

Seems Poly would be the way to go, but don't listen to me lol because I've never owned or had the need for a fresh water tank.

PC and HM belley tanks are all poly tanks now. I have made several tanks with 55 gal poly drums even made sight tubes for water level. Like you said less foot print just be sure it's strapped down tight that's a lot of weight if it moves around.

Thanks for the confirmation....I plan to strap it to the walls for added support.

Angle iron bolted around the edge of tank through the floor with plates underneath and strapped to the top of tank holds better and keeps it from sliding.

Good advice...thanks. Hopefully, I'll find some time next week to get it on the truck.
