Warehouse find
I bought 2 Steam Action machines today that I found in a warehouse abandoned by a former cleaner that apparently went out of business. One is a small machine with a #33 blower and the machine is showing 495 hrs on it and the second one is the larger one that looks like a Stealth with a 29 hp Kawasaki water cooled engine and it appears to be EFI because the fuel lines say fuel injection on them. My question is what type of fuel pump would be required to run this? It does have 2 fuel lines and I assume one is a return line. Any input would be appreciated.
Re: Warehouse find
Some people will install fuel injection line just for the added durability, but it sounds like you may indeed have an Fuel injection system. The pump will be a high pressure pump and you might even need 2 pumps (one in the tank and one inline).
Please post some pics man, I love seeing barn finds like that...awesome discovery. They build those things in Missouri don't they? I am amazed that I don't see more of them around here.

Re: Warehouse find
Actually, they are built in Lawson Missouri...about a 3 hour drive for me. If you get in a bind, let me know if I can help.

Mine looks similar to that one but more updated or newer.

Yes...and it came with 2 hose reels full of hose, and a fresh water tank with pump and heater and an extra cat 3cp pump with clutch and chemical injection system.

Now you are just rubbing it in....I'm always jealous of people that find those deals.
Re: Warehouse find
Look for a carburetor, that should make it quick n clear on if it's EFI or not.
As far as the pump goes, I'd get the manual and find out how to get an OEM fuel pump if it's EFI.

Yes, that was pretty bad on my part.
Re: Warehouse find
You will need a 255 LPH EFI 100 PSI ENGINE ELECTRIC HIGH PRESSURE GAS FUEL PUMP

Re: Warehouse find
You could call John Sells and just ask him. Have you got pic of the smaller unit. There was one they made for 18-24 months that never got into production but was a good intro unit.
Sounds like you got a great deal and if your looking to sell them you will make out like you stole them. Congrats on the deal of the year!

I cleaned it with GoJo hand cleaner and it did real good as you can see on the grill and I did this because of the electronics and ECM and didn't want to get it to wet.
I think I'm on the verge of being a hoarder but at least I can shut the doors and no one else can see it.
I have 4 or 5 machines now and need to sell off a few since I'm a one man show.
I will add some more pictures later...gotta go watch football now.
Re: Warehouse find
There is some real potential there....dare I ask what price range you paid?
The only thing I ever find around here are junk machines, not even the parts are valuable. I would hoard too if I had a good resource for cheap equipment.

Re: Warehouse find
Lets just say CHEAP incase I want to resell and I need to sell off a few of the machines but I can say one thing John Sales didn't skimp on any parts on this machine and next to the Stanley Steemer it's probably the best machine I've seen.
If you look close both machines have a harmonic balancer from a Chevy V-8 on them and I'm excited to see if it makes it run smoother.
The last laugh might be on me because I haven't fired either machine up and just took a gamble on these but for the price I could part them out and quadruple my investment or least John Sales thought it was a good deal.
I'm still partial to the Bruin2 I got from Eddie and modified it the way I want a machine.

Looks like you could start your own TM salvage biz, Larry!

I know, it's becoming a problem and I need to check into rehab. Do they have TMA (truck mounts anonymous).
Salvage......I don't think any of it is junk. No kidding I spoke to Eddie and maybe thinking about buying machines and reselling or parting them out.
I'm beginning to think carpet cleaning is a means to continue to do this as cleaning has become boring and just a means to further my hobbies. We will see.
Re: Warehouse find
I would restore them all and put them all on Craigslist, if you make some profits then you can look for more salvageable TM to be restore and sold, you can make it a business, especially with Eddy's help, he's very talented
