NorthStar Heater

I was just driving by my local Northern Tools store and decided to stop and check out their Northstar diesel heater. I have to say, that is a very robust looking machine....weighs the same as it looks.

I can see this coming home with me very soon, but it isn't something that you are going to toss into a van due to the size and weight, but a box truck with a ramp...absolutely. They only had one unit on-hand and it had a small dent from shipping, so it was going to be sent back. I nearly bought it on the spot at a discount, but I was in the car and couldn't get it home.

I still might return tomorrow and make a deal, but it would just be sitting until almost Spring when the box truck gets put into action, so it might not be the best timing. I will see how I feel about it Sunday.

Is it this one you're talking about?....or is there another one that's made not to be portable?........

That's the one....about half the price of a #4 LG.

I'm thinking of pulling the wheels and bolting it down, then running it off a fuel tap on the Isuzu. It is heavy, but being able to run that kind of heat at that kind of pressure for that kind of price....sounds pretty good.

Good reminder....if they drop the price enough due to the small dent, I'm jumping it.
