Adjusting Valves
So I adjusted the valves on my HF predator v twin motor. The specs were .13-.17 mm for intake and .18-.22mm for the exhaust. I adjusted them to .13 and .18 mm using the lowest number in the range. Smart? Bad? Doesn't matter? Anybody?
Re: Adjusting Valves
How many hour on the engine now?
If it's still fresh, I'd think it would be better on the losser side?

Re: Adjusting Valves
Is it harder to start with the valves on the tight side? Check your fuel consumption with them on the tight side. Ill guess they'll loosen up anyways.
Re: Adjusting Valves
I have no clue but they are within the specs.

Re: Adjusting Valves
As long as the valves aren't over-lapping I don't think it really matters. Factory range = good to go.
Re: Adjusting Valves
I am approaching 325 hours. Knock on wood.... very happy so far. The valve adjustment was better thought out and easier to do than the Honda gx670. Thanks for all the advice as usual.
Re: Adjusting Valves
As long as it's in the factory spec it's ok. I usually set in the middle. But that's just me.
