Big Mistake from competitor!
This is what I do...I know how to ethically dismantle unhealthy competition....Im getting my fair share of work now and the smaller guys are feeling it....so much so they make mistakes and show true colors. Just today I had a facebook special for my facebook likes (trying to build up facebook a little) anyway, my competitor says ON MY POST, ON MY PAGE that he has better prices without any special....as to try and take some of my promotion prospects.....if anyone takes his offer I didn't want them anyway but here is what I said rather than deleting it
"My first thought was to delete this comment on MY post on MY business page, but then I thought "how better to service my customers than to allow them to see the integrity and business ethics of my so called competitors.
Thoughts?
What would you have done?
How bad does this guy look? I only have 300 or so local likes.
When the time is right I will share with you something else going on that will surprise you....I can tell you in a PM but not here, if you are curious PM me. LMAO!

Unfortunately, many will not see the foul so clearly. My guess is that they will either ignore it without understanding the significance or some will get curious enough to call that competitor for a deal.
I think I would have thrown down the gauntlet and challenge this guy publicly to a clean off head to head. He wants to bark, show him the teeth.

That was my first thought....then I thought not playing his game would be better....I have many PMs telling me I made the right comment back and im betting by morning it will be gone.....I took a screenshot! lol

You are probably right, but have you ever walked into someone's yard and run into a strange dog? What happens if the dog just ignores your trespass?
Now, what happens when that dog goes for your throat?

Re: Big Mistake from competitor!
to be honest I would have just deleted it rather than make anything from it
Re: Big Mistake from competitor!
Wow, I'm not sure what I would do, I guess I would challenge a customer or two to take his word and use his service and give an honest feedbacks about the work quality in a few months, cause a good quality cleaning will last longer, I've heard that quite a bit from my customers, including one that I fired and she came back to me and acknowledged that our cleaning is much superior than others, she tried a couple companies.

Re: Big Mistake from competitor!
So this is how its playing out....They are still commenting and trying to justify the situation and its getting worse for them! they look like idiots and dont understand Facebook very well....I have gained 27 new likes because of this and have scheduled many jobs because of the drama it created...I stayed "joe cool" and look like a saint! lol. anyway, I dont understand why they wont delete it, they look like fools. Im not saying anything really. I had a customer ask If I could clean for them from his area right on FB in front of them. Its only helping me. Poor guy, I suspect its his wife and he may not know.
I am letting the people stone him. lol

Yet another reason it pays to be a member of these forums. If he was here, he might realize what is going on.
Then again, if he was here, his business wouldn't be worried about a little competition either.

Re: Big Mistake from competitor!
People see through that bull and he may have gotten a few jobs from it but were they really going to be your repeat customers?
Re: Big Mistake from competitor!
I would bet he didnt get one job...he deleted the comment. I booked many from the excitement. lol I kept my cool....Im not so sure they really understood what they did. anyway, it was a little exciting.

Re: Big Mistake from competitor!
Here's what you do.
" As a service to all my facebook friends and customers. Here is a list of all the local cleaning companies that charge less than we do ( LIST W/ #'S). We charge more for several reasons
1. Quality of work
2. Longer lasting cleaning- no rapid re-soiling
3. Quick drying times
4. You deal directly with the owner
5. State of the art well maintained equipment.
6. 100% unconditional Guarantee- If your not happy you don't pay."
I would love some body to post that crap on my page. I would use the opportunity to differentiate myself from them and everybody else

Re: Big Mistake from competitor!
Eldiablo...Thats a great idea but my thought was to let him shoot himself in the foot as he did....sometimes silence does lateral damage. lol I let the potential customers tell him and I really dont see anything stronger than a customer telling him he was tacky and lacked ethics....I have two jobs scheduled in his city now and both know who he is.....so, I think he wishes he did things different. I was all about really doing a side by side comparison with him and also challenge .....the funny thing was, his prices werent any lower....his quality and equipment is hideous from what Ive been told. Its water under the bridge now. Im to busy to play with this, but did enjoy a couple days of the excitement. He deleted it and thats what meant most to me....he did it not me. lol

Sometimes it is best to allow an enemy to retreat, other times it is best to peruse and destroy.
If you are stronger, I believe in the latter.

Re: Big Mistake from competitor!
I wouldnt change the way I handled it for nothing....I got more jobs, customers in his hood AND he deleted his comment....I could have humiliated him but some sucker would have felt sorry for him and thats all we needed.

Funny, I actually didn't select that fecal icon. It replaced my word choice automatically when it posted.
