Strange week. One of my long time customers wanted her pristine white carpet cleaned again. This time her husband had taken the doors off the hinges to make sure I cleaned under that one square inch that I hadn't been able to reach before. Long time customers. Gotta Love Em. Wine

Sound like the man is OCD for certain, but I love those kind as they call often for cleanings.

Ive heard of a guy, who knows if its true but the local Jon Don talks about him in their training classes..

hes out of eastern wa and does super high end homes and they say he charges .80-1.00/sq ft, which I find hard to believe

but apparently he carefully removes all the doors from hinges, moves every single piece of furniture, tapes off all transitions, etc etc Treats it more like a wood floor refinishing job.

I've heard those stories too.....even at a buck per foot, he is not making any more than the rest of us after you subtract all the time it took to remove doors, furniture, taping off transitions, etc.

Classic case of a person trying to make the perfect cheeseburger rather than trying to sell one. McDonald's scores at the bottom of every list for burger quality, yet it is at the top of the list in revenues.

This guy has a really good cheeseburger....nothing more.

Wow, that is so unnecessary, and potential high risk of problems, what if the home has termites and when he takes the door out, the hinges fall off due to weakened wood and the customers blame you. And due to the high end clients he serves, they most likely to sue you.

It does seem like a risky practice. I would be worried about marked the wall and having to pay painters to repaint the room.

I did a mold job 2 years ago where I had to attach the containment tent right to the wall to seal off the attic access. I made it a point to tell them that I was actually using a special tape called "restoration tape" that would peel right off the wall when I was done without causing any damage or leave a sticky residue.

When the job was done, they stood right there and watched me tear down the tent. All of the tape released like it normally does except the last 6 inches which peeled the paint right off the wall. Shocked

I cost me $300 to have the room re-painted and my image was damaged as well. Felt like such an idiot.
