I thought I was Mr Ready Eddie
So I spent this weekend cleaning the van. I power washed the floors, cleaned the equipment and organized everything. I was feeling good, I was ready to rock!! Or so I thought. On my first job I start the the TM get started and it turned off. WTH? I ran out of Gas!
I had enough gas to get to the gas station but it was embarrassing having to take off to get gas. At least I know I installed the fuel tap correctly. The TM ran out but still enough gas to get to the gas station

Re: I thought I was Mr Ready Eddie
My friend hate's when tha3t happens.
He's always pushing it on gas and propane, and has to stop fairly often to go refuel. So really I guess he doesn't really hate when it happens, or he wouldn't be doing so often.
I'm not a risk taker like that, so if I'm even close to low I'll fill up before the job.

Re: I thought I was Mr Ready Eddie
A little bit of advice here....never let the fuel get below a 1/4 tank or half tank if your area is hilly.
The only thing keeping your in-tank fuel pump from burning up is being submerged in fuel. Without it, they over-heat VERY quickly and replacing an in-tank pump is a pita.
I refuel every time the van leaves the driveway, even if it is just a few bucks worth.

Re: I thought I was Mr Ready Eddie
This is how I tell my people that same thing... "Every time you let your tank go below half you are one day closer to buy/needing a new fuel pump." I never let it get below 1/2 for that very reason oh and the hella embarassing it is to stop, unhook everything and go get gas. So yes I have done it but it has been over a decade since the first and last time I ever did that.

Hey at least you figured it out. Some people would have called to ask why their unit won't run. Lol

Now let's see if I remember it tomorrow?
