Customer change mind
It happens all the time right ? Well may be not all the time, sometimes it happens, and usually it doesn't bother me, but if it's 3 stories townhomes and they changed their mind and decide not to clean the stairs, that bugs the crap out of me, we have shoe covers but I hate to have to put them on and take them off like gazillion of times.
We ended up stepping all over the stairs and just vacuum them when we were done with the cleaning, that adds up a couple of minutes that we didn't have to do if they just fork an extra $ 100 for 2 flights of stairs, oh well, we carpet cleaners are so weird.

Re: Customer change mind
Why wouldn't they want to clean the stairs, it is often the worst areas? That doesn't make any sense to me at all and I would have explained that in detail to that customer. Maybe they are planning on replacing the steps?
That is frustrating, but in Marines we had a motto for that "Semper Gumby" (Always Flexible). You have to be that in this business.

The stairs are not bad at all surprisingly, they are asians, so most likely they take their shoes off, I'm just glad they didn't ask me and Danny to take our shoes off.
Yeah I agree, in this business you have to be flexible.
If I were working by myself, I would be so mad though because with the home set up, that would take so much extra time in pulling the hoses and packing everything back up.

Re: Customer change mind
Welcome to my world DP. Im getting sick of people asking me I have help.
I should just tell them that I cant afford help and do a lot of huffing puffing and sweating to see if I get more tips.
They just want me to get the hell out of there faster

Working solo does slow things down a little, but I really do think that they will feel like they got their money's worth as well. After they watch me dragging hoses and tools all over the place, they normally conclude that they wouldn't want to do it.

I first thought "super gumby". Then the Marine thing got me. LOLmilspec6 wrote:Why wouldn't they want to clean the stairs, it is often the worst areas?
