Re: Sales calls fiasco
I'm with ya Brotha, on the sales calls!!
That's the main reason I wear a Pebble Watch while I'm working, so I can see if it's an out out area call without having to stop working and look at my phone, and to be able to stop the ringing without reaching for my phone. ......99% of the time those out of area calls are sales calls and I just ignore them, if it does happen to be a customer they can just leave a VM.
I just don't have the time to waste answering all those BS calls!

Re: Sales calls fiasco
DP you should of asked those sales reps if they knew anyone in your area that needed their carpets cleaned
Re: Sales calls fiasco
What I started doing to some numbers that absolutely don't give up is I answer them with "hello" and when they ask to speak with the owner, I just ask them back "what owner ?" And I told them they got the wrong number, usually that does the trick for most companies, one or two would stop their calls for a few days then the calls started again, so irritating.
Mo, that's a great idea, I should start doing that

Re: Sales calls fiasco
I just tell them that the boss is on vacation for another week, then I register and block the number after they hang up.
Like everyone else, I don't have time for those calls.

every time Angie list calls I give them the third degree and tell why I disagree with their marketing strategies. it usually ends with them hanging up on us.

I answer the phone and if they ask for the owner I say to them. Hang on for a minute and in a loud voice they hear me say " Hey Jack telephone for you. Then I put the phone down and let them stew for a bit. Since we don't pay for taking the call, so serve them right for annoyng me.
