Late phone calls.

I seem to get them a lot more in the summer, many years ago I used to pick them up and usually I get like the cheap customers called just to ask prices, or a tenant with water damage job that just want the water extracted for $ 50, lol.
Do you get them too and do you pick up or just let them go to answering machine / voice mail ?

Nowadays, I don't need to jump when they ask or call late.
I don't do same day service, even for my sister in law.
Don't do "my puppy is potty trained...)

The other day she said, "I'm calling around for prices, so give me your best deal". Figured about $200, so I said $250.

We do water damage service and you better be a 24 hr service if you want those calls....usually people call me later in the day because they are getting off work, getting kids, eating whatever and then remember to call....I promise your best jobs will be those odd calls....they dont have time to search and get quotes or really do anything other than schedule. I had one just last night....she is opening a daycare and said just come and clean it...I dont have the time for all the quotes....she heard I was good and that was enough.....my referals are starting and my reputation is getting noticed and taking place.

I get some but a good majority are telemarketers. I try not to answer my phone past 6:00PM

on another note, my god there is so much telemarketing spam these days... Im getting like 7-8 at least per day somedays more than 10! all robots, this used to be illegal and still should be

email spam is one thing, the phone spamming is really irritating

Agreed !!! And they're getting smarter too, some of them started to use local # or may be they are local but man they're pounding me with like 10 - 12 calls per day, on Fridays they're usually around 20 calls.

When I get one of those local calls and they ask, " Do you want more business?" I tell them im 65 years old and I can barely handle the work I have now.  That usually shuts them up

I like when they say they are a GOOGLE partner! trying to play like they are "in" with google. Its game on! when they do that with me...I say WOW Google! then act all like im gitty and talking to google. LMAO They want to play on that....im playing. then I work them over for the next 30-40 minutes (if I have time) and then drop the bomb saying Im not interested...then like clockwork they say ....Okay, let me see....your competition is bla...bla...and bla right? Yes, they pop up first on google , you okay with that? then I really get in my game and tell them I am also the first Bla. lol (im not) just messin with the squach. Then I try and sell him carpet cleaning spotter.

Search "no more robo" a program that identifies those robot calls and is suppose to stop them. Recent legislation make the "no more robot" app legal.

It's 7:50pm here and I just got a call....A mattress and a couple rooms. didnt ask price and gave address...they have a new puppy and I will have a new custy. I suspect this will add to my day by approx $250 on top of two jobs making my day about $750 ~ $800

You know, I just typed this long response but then decided I'd sound way too much like the jackass I am if I posted it, sooo........

No I don't normally answer after hours or on Sundays, or for that matter when I'm real busy working  (which is now getting into what I just deleted), (I know, I know) But being a one man show, and a lot of times getting double/triple the calls for jobs I can actually do, it does allow me to be picky and just do only the high end stuff that I'm really after.  

You don't need to tell me what I could be doing, or how dumb I am for letting so many slip.....I know, just call me stupid, or a bad biz man, which I can't deny.  

Still sounding like a jackass, but a lil less this time.

630pm here, and I also just booked a mattress...a one sided king for $150.

Hopefully you have your Jodercide before you go met that puppie, Scott. It's a real monay maker, if you're willing to ask for the monay!!

Well I dont have Joedercide yet...Joe and I have been playing phone tag. plus Im spending money as fast as Im getting it...actually a little faster. Damn trees....gotta have a guy cut some trees for me...getting into my funds a little.

Biz and owning prop, the spending never seems to end!!

Im willing to ask....they arent always willing to pay it. its a new mattress so I suspect its just a one time puppy pee. We will see...plus two rooms I think I said. doesnt sound like more than 1.5 hrs including drive time...he is less than two miles away. As a matter a fact all my jobs are close this week
