No, I would not normally sell or recommend protection as 'being needed' for those fibers you mentioned.

No, I normally wouldn't either, but I'm also not going to argue too strongly with a client that requests it.

^ Yup agreed, that's why I said "normally" lol.........if they insist after telling them the deal, I'm not going to refuse doing what they want.

Re: Would your Really apply protector to
Like I mentioned, I don't really sell much protector as it just doesn't seem all that essential to me for the customer. Now, I do have some who always ask for it so they do get the treatment, but generally I prefer to recommend more frequent cleanings instead.
Re: Would your Really apply protector to
funny you guys say this because I believe all the carpet manufacturers recommend re applying protector after several professional cleanings.
Re: Would your Really apply protector to
so I guess the question is, do you think our steam cleaning and wear/tear abrasion over time removes the factory coating?
I would think it certainly does after a few cleanings, I never sell it to customers with newer carpet.
When you pre spray new carpet with a good coating you can really see the spray looks different when it hits the surface, kind of sits on top.

I guess that makes sense, the pile is pretty thin. But is all commercial glue down really plastic?

Residential carpet, glued down or not, isn't plastic?

Most commercial glue down is plastic, but so is residential carpet.

So is the payment method...my have the times changed.
Re: Would your Really apply protector to
why would manufacturers recommend it then? does it somehow make them more money from replacement?
Re: Would your Really apply protector to
AC I'm sorry, I was scrolling down the page on my laptop and it said I cast my vote. I didn't mean to give you a negative for the above post. It was purely accidental and I can't seem to take it back. Is there any way to fix this Mods? If not I'll give you some rep somewhere else to make up for it. I'll have to watch where I'm scrolling from now on.
