Where is your Local Ditributor SCREWING you over on parts
This ought to be a new section on where to find parts without bending over and how to replace them. I have a few and am sure you guy's do to. What do you say Mo? Proprietary parts!!!!! Come on they get them from where and with the age of the internet. We ought to make a list for everyone we find. Just start listing your make and what you need. Enough brains here to figure it out ( except you guy's with computer controlled machines ). I have links and am willing to share and I know between all of us we could compile a list. Lets dig deep because nothings that proprietary and yes you might have to modify or not get a part that looks exactly the same but functions the same, after that it's all over but the crying for the people soaking you for your money.
Re: Where is your Local Ditributor SCREWING you over on parts
I'll start the list, this is a great place to get pumps and pumps seals, etc, and cheap too.

Great Dp1. If everybody will chime in Eddie might not like us anymore. Just kidding Eddie.
Personally, I think everybody ought to learn how to repair their own truck mount.
We need to find out what truck mounts people are running and start posting from there.
I've built the last several I had or modified them.
Anyway, I think it would be a nice topic for people to research
their machine and find parts other than the distributor.

Re: Where is your Local Ditributor SCREWING you over on parts
I think I've mentioned this before but for those of you running propane heat and need an under belly propane tank.
I went to my local pick ur part and went to the RV section in the yard and picked an underbelly propane tank for $20.00. They're were quite a few that looked brand new. I took to my local propane dealer had them replace the valves and pressure test it. Saved about 3-400 dollars

Re: Where is your Local Ditributor SCREWING you over on parts
Maybe a sub forum of the classified forum?
Re: Where is your Local Ditributor SCREWING you over on parts
Why on the classified forum? We aren't selling anything. Just promoting how to work on our equipment.
Re: Where is your Local Ditributor SCREWING you over on parts
A sub forum of Ask The Mechanic? Or an entirely separate forum?
Re: Where is your Local Ditributor SCREWING you over on parts
How about equipment review section ?

My El Diablo uses a small magnet to activate the heater via flow switch. Manufacturer and suppliers were charging me $80 twice a year for a new flow switch. Contacted the manufacturer. " Sure you can buy just the magnet ($11.00). Ordered through link above. They do wack you on shipping. My pet peeve. DO NOT add extra charges to the shipping charges or I will no longer do business with you. The company above has great prices, you just have to specify that you want the cheapest shipping option.

Is there anyone one who uses a 8 pin relay that needs a link?
Re: Where is your Local Ditributor SCREWING you over on parts
You think you are getting done like a dogs dinner.
Here in Aussie Hypro pump 2220 model near enough to thousand bucks.
From the USA $320 plus shipping about $80.
Vacc motor Lamb Ametek 3 stage 7.2 diam. here $600 from USA $194 plus shipping again about $80. And you lot think are being overcharged. That jar of vaseline looks pretty small compared to the drum that most Aussie suppliers have behind their counters waiting for the the bunnies to walk into their stores.
They complain that the internet is killing their businesses. More power to the internet. Best thing that ever happened I reckon.
By the way I get my pumps from Wintrax and vac motors fron Kleen Rite

Re: Where is your Local Ditributor SCREWING you over on parts
OK, I need a good source for Marine exhaust hose for my Blower to Waste tank connection. Does anybody know what size I need for an El Diablo?
Re: Where is your Local Ditributor SCREWING you over on parts
Do you have a rubber specialty store close by? Size? Take it off and measure the inside diameter. If it's a #4 blower normally it would be 2 1/2"
If it's a straight shot you can always use a piece of pvc and cut off 2 small pieces of your current hose for the ends.
