Box truck set up pics
Got the TNT yesterday! delivery driver was nice enough to let me split apart the crate in his truck so it would fit in my smaller doors. Had to pull off the air filter cover, air filter, and the bolt that they attach to so the machine would fit under the door. Was pretty easy but wow it was close! 1/8in clearance.
150 gal waste tank with a new kevlar paint that is a first on this machine.
installed some black indoor outdoor carpet for now, might go rhino lining later but saving some money for now
Couldnt find any door kick plates that were 4ft, so had to just go with some black flashing for now
black carpet going up on the walls in the van, dont have time to paint so this will have to hold up for the busy season for now
working on the shop at the same time, nothing major just painting everything white, walls ceiling, floor
it was in rough condition from the previous owner, has separate 200amp service and a viaduct that runs the whole length, ive tested it draining about 250 gallons so far
installing the propane tank under the truck today and running the lines to the machine, #4 LG shows up tomorrow then connecting it and probably doing the first test run on my carpets.
repainted our hose reel which was getting a little rusty, and next comes to tough task of laying out the truck... theres no back door just 3 roll up doors on each side so we are thinking about removing 2 doors on the drivers side to get more shelf space.
busy busy busy, ill post more pics after some progress

Re: Box truck set up pics
That tank looks way taller than mine. Looks like it's going to be a nice setup.

Re: Box truck set up pics
just got all the fuel hoses and regulator today from Judson, came with a free container of slop and gobble! been wanting to try that stuff for a while.
still not sure if we are going to put the machine in the door closest to the cab, or in the middle door where it is in the picture. then hose reels will either go first door or middle door.

I've thinking about using an old beverage vendor truck with 3 roll-ups...you beat me to it. Since there is no back door, I think placing the machine over the wheels in the middle door is the best location. From there you can move all around it when it comes to servicing the unit without obstructions.
Looks awesome..

Re: Box truck set up pics
Were would the best place for the machine be? N0t just for access purposes but for proper weight distribution and balance?
I't looks like you have the new diesel truck muffler on it.
That propane tank looks huge. What size is it? I guess the guys at propane kits were right I would need a big tank in order to power an 18 HP engine on propane. My 10 lbs tank wouldn't power vaporize propane fast enough to power the engine and run the LG
It looks really nice congrats on the purchase and you're going to have some fun cleaning with that baby this season. Keep the picture coming.
Speaking of TNT deliveries???

Re: Box truck set up pics
That's a good point Mo, for weight distribution it would probably be best behind in the back half of the first door, but over the axle shouldn't be a bad spot...might roughen the rid a little, but also would get great snow traction, so it is a give and take.
As for TNT deliveries? Still a showroom Queen as new pallets are being made and a scale located. Yes, my eyes are rolling as well.

ya looks convenient but I would stick with a regular box, were probably going to switch this one out for a regular 16ft box since the wheel base can take it, but not until we make some money back.
with this type of box the doors actually take away a good amount of shelf/storage space, also its not as tall... which helps gas mileage, but also the loss of storage space.
I think the middle spot is going to be it, I was still thinking about the first door but thats a good point about the maintenance... not quite as easy to service the pump, engine etc if it was in the first door. Probably will go with the hose reels in the first door, and hopefully still have room to fit the rotovac and at least a wand next to them.
The little giant is supposed to be on the left of the machine to ventilate, the right side is cold air which makes a good spot for chemshelf.
Thats a 50gal tank Mo, and man it was not easy to mount underneath.. the shop I bought it from wanted 200.00 and they couldnt do it for a week or so.
I took 2 car ramps with towels and rolled the tank up them. Then packed some wood and more towels to get it as high as I could under the van, drilled the holes and used extra long 8in bolts so I could get the nuts started without having to hold the tank all the way up in place. Once I had the nuts on through some steel plate I just cranked it up into place.
heater should be here in an hr or so, then all I have to do is connect all the LP fittings
I think im gonna be a nerd and get a vehicle wrap on the tnt
Re: Box truck set up pics
Have you considered mounting the hose reel from the ceiling? It might leave you some room underneath for bonnets, pads, airpath etc. Not sure if it has the height, but a thought.
Re: Box truck set up pics
another good idea, I could easily do that.. the roof already has a lot of screw holes from the steel shelving that was in the truck when I bought it.
Im going to at least try it since the ceiling needs paint anyways
got any more? lol

Re: Box truck set up pics
That looks so good you should put glass windows on those doors to show that off like Ferrari does for their engines.
Of course, most folks wouldn't appreciate that as beauty.

Way to get the job done with a the tank.
Mount the reel on a box that has a sliding drawer and you could organize all your stuff in there.
You know you're going to have to change your handle to LP Power now don't ya?

Have you thought about the lighting yet?
With those 3 doors like that, it looks like a game show...maybe spotlights from above in each compartment so that when it is open, all your equipment is featured like a painting from the art museum.
Boy would that draw attention on a late evening job.

"heater should be here in an hr, then all I have to do is connect all the LP fittings"
famous last words, pouring rain I just finished.. started at about 3.
mounted the regulator, ran the gas lines up through the floor, put the feet on the little giant, bolted down the machine, bolted down the little giant, ran gas line through floor to machine, connected pressure lines, pressure regulator, mounted the hose reel on the ceiling.
tomorrow getting the tank filled, then priming the machine and LG
then first test run on my carpets...
hose reel looks awsome on the ceiling Milspec, thanks. That bought me a good 3.5ft of vertical space underneath
