What hobbies do you guys have?

Im curious, what do you guys do for fun? what are some hobbies?

I've ridden/raced motorcycles all my life, started at 5 years old....but I'm pretty much retired from that, due to age, can't afford to get hurt, and the high cost of it.

So I'm pretty boring now, and don't do much now but work, and hassle people on the internet for excitement.........booooring.

Traveling, going to gym ( is that a hobby or lifestyle ? )
I used to ride motorcycle too, after 5 accidents and no broken bones or broken anything, thank God, I stopped, I might buy a bike one of these days and start riding again, may be next year, we'll see, oh those 5 accidents were not all my fault, they all happened in my home country where lane splitting is definitely legal and a couple of times people stop their cars during traffic and unloading passengers and they didn't look back when they opened the door and bam I hit their door.
I also love corporate management and will consider career change in the near future if I can go back to school and get my master degree.

Hobbies? That would require free time, right....don't have that anymore.

I was a marathon / triathlon guy for about 20 years, but for the last 2 years I just work marathon hours.

The only hobby I have is guitar playing. At least I think I can claim guitar playing? I only know about 8 chords and half a song after 6 months, but I do try and get at least some time in each day.

Hopefully, the winter slow down will turn me into a guitar legend with all that practice time.

I had three motorcycle accidents and came out okay each time....ive been lucky, the past 5 years me and the wife wanted to get a road bike and just enjoy some cruize time but she just changed her mind one day and put that to rest.....so my days are gone too. I dont have any real hobbie now but my forcus is my son....and try to squeeze in some travel.

DP....corporate management....thats interesting! My passion has always been Marketing , i missed my calling as far as making a career out of it...Ive studied marketing for at least 20 years as its always changing....Ive been through all the college books etc. Ive launched several products for other people and always successful....i saved 3 companies from disaster because of the wrong marketing....one guy who didnt care to listen to me called me about a month ago saying he wished he would of listened to me....he was so focused on the apple that he wouldnt climb the tree. anyway, I love marketing and guess its a hobbie being I dont do it for an income....I proved a point when I launched my own products.

Rob...my son played and was good...he lost interest...he plays the heck out of the trumpet though. I never had any of that....I wasnt even good at the radio or air geeeetar.

From strings to trumpet....interesting.

Wow, a fisherman and a writer, I guess it fits, you write while waiting for the fish to bite on the bait. Cool deal Ken.

Speaking of fishing, does anyone know what happened to Larry Henson ? He used to post here. He got that big huge fish he caught in his avatar.

I'm hoping that some of my childhood piano playing pays off, but I have found that you really have to dedicate your time to improve. Time is a premium right now, so I am struggling a bit, but still enjoying what gains I do make.

I do envy anyone with skills like that.

Ive been snowboarding for 21 years, since I was 10

also used to ride sport bikes but was hit on a street ride by another bike and can no longer spend more than about 45min in that type of riding position anymore due to my hip injury, spent a good amount of time at pacific raceways riding with NESBA

Fishing is big here although I sold my bayliner about 5 years ago and regret it. Still hit the river sometimes

Im an avid pool player and have competed up and down the west coast, am a national master in the BCA for 8 ball and 9 ball.

stand up paddle boarding I got into about 3years ago and love it

just now getting back into mountain biking and hopefully buying a new bike in the next few weeks

No Rob...he favors his mom in most aspects. He really amazes us though...things come to him so easy.

AC.,...Stand up paddle sounds fun...my son wanted to try that and we will some day get to it.

its much more fun then it looks when u watch someone doing it. I always thought they were working really hard and not moving very fast but you really get moving fast.

just make sure if you rent one that you get a large board like 14ft, the smaller 10/11 ft ones you have to constantly paddle to stay afloat

calm water is the most fun, small channels or early mornings on the lake

I like target shooting 50 to 100 yrd is ok try shooting 200 to 300 yrd with a 22 LR. Hitting a 2 liter or smaller target.
Just finished a trigger job on a 75 yr old Russian rifle that had a 9 lb trigger pull when finished it had a 2 3/4 lb trigger pull, plus made a custom stock from scratch. Now I'm doing some customizing to the barrel. Just something to tinker with a little bit at a time. I've been working on it for over a year.
Then hunting and fishing.

Nice Ace! I hunt but im doing less and less of it....I hunt with a compound bow and rife during white tail season...I may go this year with my son, he has only been a couple times with me...I have a pic of him gutting a deer with me...he never even flinched as long as he was seeing dad do it. Bow season is the most challenging....Ive only got two over the years this way. Fishing is just a random thing for us when we camp.

 Wow DP I kind of know how you feel. I used to courier on my motorcycle when I was youmg in LA. Every day I would have multiple close calls.

lots of sports Ive loved over the years but also just cant afford to get hurt being self employed

when I sold my last motorcycle I had come to the realization that there are way too many terrible drivers in Seattle that are drinking starbucks, playing with their phones, or too old to have a license.

when you live in a highly populated area with lots of traffic everyone is always rushing everywhere they go which is just a recipe for disaster.

we have so many motorcycle deaths here per motorcycle riders its bad

I don't think I would ride in a big City either AC. The area I live in is perfect for riding. Its very relaxing and a big stress reliever

That would make him this forums very own rockstar!

LOL, The funny thing about whipping the fly line and getting good at is that for some it takes a few hours and others many many hours. So it depends on your coordination and ability to pick things up. Now if you go to a fly casting clinic it will take you about 2 hours and you will shorten the learning curve by 90%.
