107 calls for carpet or upholstery since Monday morning. Took as many as reasonably possible and called as many back as possibly but it ain't easy when your cleaning too

What do you do when your a small company, A few got pissed but man just
Not set up for this.

My message even implies we're small and we'll call back asap but still a few mad that we didn't call back.

Second van almost ready but still a long ways from having an office person.

Yep, I know that one, I even had some douche on Yelp give me a 1 star review because I didn't call him back in 5 hrs......34 total reviews. 33 5 star and one 1 star. Sad

You can only do what you can do, even if for some people it ain't good nuf'. confused

Seriously, I know what a prob is can be trying to do jobs and answer the phone and sched appts.

It's either too much or not enuf!!!  laughing

I can relate to that...not as much, but to a degree. I still work for the plant from 52-72 hours per week and try to squeeze 30 hours in cleaning as well, so I am pretty stretched out.

I had 11 calls yesterday (5 I missed as I was cleaning and didn't hear the alert) and when I tried to call them back, they found someone else already. Just so much I can do when things get busy.

I too have a second truck in the works, but am probably another month away from getting it on the road.

What to do when you are slammed with calls and a small operation? Your best, what else can you do?

I tried to find a local calling service, but that service has pretty much disappeared with the dinosaurs and I am not busy enough to warrant hiring an office person to take calls. At 107 calls, though, it sounds like you certainly are.

If I was in your shoes, I would hire a pleasant voice to handle your calls for awhile then work like mad until you get that second truck rolling. The other option would be to sub some of those jobs....getting 25% off of jobs that you would have lost seems worth it to me.

I just counted mine, 155 calls NOT including marketing calls, from Monday through today, 5 people wanted same day services today but my buddy / employee is off today, so I pulled the $ 0.40 / Sq ft move and everyone got scared, lol, scheduled one same day service at that rate and scheduled it at the end of the day.
My phone literally rang every 10 minutes the last 4 days, it's insane, felt like throwing my phone to the ground at times but thankfully I just got a new phone, I still babied it, lol.
Monday is booked so far, Tuesday almost booked, usually I'm only booked a day or two in advance, reserving one or two spots for same day service.
I hope it keeps going like this, if it is, time to hire a secretary, a hot one that is, lol.

That only works in person, you can't get away with quoting that much on the phone!  laughing

But I'm sure that was your point!  wink
