I guess I will. I am always learning something new in this industry, so if I only pick up a small tidbit of useful information and avoid winter for awhile...I am up for it. Just today, I discovered that you can remove light rust from silverware using a sliced potato!! Turns out that a potato contains traces of oxalic acid naturally....bet you didn't know that?? Could also be used in an emergency on a rust stain if you had nothing else available.

Try that one at Thanksgiving dinner next time.

I love the trade show part seeing all the "Bright new shiny stuff". Also found that most best business and contacts has taken place in a casual setting at the bar or by the pool. cheers

I have never been to our industry show. But I thoroughly enjoyed going to two trade show a year when I was a golf course superintendent.

They all run the same class for several years so most have the opportunity to attend. I have not looked over this industry show info but I love those events. Just havnt been able to free myself from work to go to LA. Now Fla I would go.

I also agree with Terry too. Sometimes these industry show get centered around the same folks and you find yourself in a never ending cycle. I have seen that personally.

I think there is a good medium between Terry's approach and the other end if the spectrum.

I swore to my self a long time ago I will never sit through a class to learn how to be like everyone else. If anything I guess I would probably get a laugh at all the sheep atempting to become the best carpet cleaners in the world. I guess its the hardcore sales man in my blood that refuses to go with the grain.
I honestly can't even understand the point of going at all, other than writing off a vacation. Vegas took one of my best friends a couple of years ago so I probably wont ever be stepping foot in that sleezy hole.

The only reason I still go to those stupid classes is so I can keep signing those stupid warranty papers from the carpet manufacturers and so that I can still charge those customers $ 0.50 / sq ft and never tell them the break down ( $ 0.30 / sq ft for the actual cleaning cost and $ 0.20 / sq ft for my stupid classes cost and all fees associated with it ) take it or leave it, they need my signature, LOL Razz

WE can all learn if we are willing and don't already know it all. Wink

Sorry to hear about your friend. But I'm curious how did "Vegas took one of my best friends a couple of years ago"?!
