Re: My other Truckmount project
That van was in very good shape, I expected to see some rust in that flooring. Few things look better than a fresh coating of bedliner....I just wish it stayed like that.
Really sharp looking project, money very well spent.

Re: My other Truckmount project
I may have missed it, but what brand of bed liner did you use...3M?
Did you us a Schutz gun or roll it on?
I am still thinking about doing that on the box truck beneath the rubber mats and up the walls, but prepping aluminum sounds like a big pita to me.

Re: My other Truckmount project
gtech12v that is really nice. We bought something that is likely the same thing
at Auto Zone. I think it is called Gorilla or something . We just put it down with
the paint brushes that came in the kit. Never new how easy it was to work with.
We did not do as good a job as you. We mostly just did the floor . I will take some
pictures of my setup and put them on here soon.

Custom Coat Schutz gun @ 60psi easy to do and the results are way better than rolling

Re: My other Truckmount project
Where you planing on using the "heavy rubber things" at?
I've been thinking about rubber mounting my Kohler for awhile, but haven't thought of a way of doing it without changing the deck height of the eng without doing a tome of fab work.. ....and it seems pretty pointless to rubber mount the TM frame to the van floor, since I'd like to isolate the vibration transfer from eng. to the TM's frame.

Oh ok, I see them hinding in the paint now. Yea, I know different situation, And also the reason I said I wanted to isolate Kohler eng. vibration...which you don't have.

Re: My other Truckmount project
That would be a nice idea, but it adds another maint issue as well. Back in my hardcore Jeep days, I was replacing mounts like that way too often as they end up splitting.
If you want to go this route, look for the urethane mounts. Of course, they can squeak, so there is no perfect option.

Re: My other Truckmount project
Check with a air-conditioning supply store. They have 4" by 4" rubber pads about 3/4" thick. They won't split.

Re: My other Truckmount project
I just ran out of time today on my reassemble. I took it all down and had it powder coated but have been to busy cleaning.
I had to make a new blower mount for one of the blowers and that took most of my day,
Here is some pics of my progress
[img][/img]
I had it pc in chrome and black

Re: My other Truckmount project
Looking really good and hope the coil holds up. I've seen some that did and others that failed a few months later.
I would try and find out what caused the rupture? It looks like the coil was making contact with something by the bent fins and probably wore a hole. Solve that issue and you should be able to avoid a repeat failure.
That chrome / black is sweet...looks like a hammer finish, really sharp.

the coil was frozen and the fins needed to be bend in order to put a nice weld , it was tested over night it hold pressure so will see
it beats new england truckmounts prie of over $800 to get it fix total cost with the new removable plates was $300
