Heater needed ?
It's been freezing down here and when I say freezing, it's actually freezing for Californians, lol, 35 degrees low to be exact today and tomorrow, me and Dave were talking about the need of heater in the van, I don't think we need one but I want to see what you guys think ? What temperature would you guys put heater in the van ?

Re: Heater needed ?
It was -7 last night at my place and will be around zero tonight, so I will take a stab at this one.
Water starts to expand at 40 degrees and freezes at 32, so I always try to keep the interior of my van above 40 degrees. The key here is that I want all of the interior above 40 degrees and the floors will be the coldest.
If the van is kept in a garage, you are probably good. Even an unheated garage will stay about 5-10 degrees above the outside temperature. That should keep you right around the 40 degree mark.
If concerned at all, a simple oil-filled radiator style heater is all that you need. Set the thermostat on it to 45 degrees and you cover all of your bases. I have 2 of them in van right now running at 70 degree settings and is holding things inside above 48 degrees even when nearly 10 below zero.

Re: Heater needed ?
Oh, and I see Vegas has snow in the forecast, so we all have cold temps to deal with.
Re: Heater needed ?
You damn CA puss!........haha
But yea it's true, with all we've read here we were wondering with temps here around close or at freezing if we need heaters in our vans?

Re: Heater needed ?
No garage for me, my vans won't fit in my garage, good thing is I don't have any job on Friday, and Saturday already climb back up to high 40's ( lowest in the day ) which means going to be on the low 50's by 8 am, so I should be good.
Las Vegas is snowing ? D@mn, I wish it snowed last week when I was there !

I wonder what the betting line is for that snow event?
Re: Heater needed ?
My daughter lives in LV. The casinos were taking bets on IF it would snow.
Only Vegas.
Only Vegas.
