Thermal Relief Valves?.... - Page 2 Empty Re: Thermal Relief Valves?....

No, the bleeder hose doesn't use / go through pump, it uses gravity straight from the water box to the inlet and I hook up a 3' garden hose to it so that it extends to the ground for the purpose of making solutions and bypassing the hot water when needed, so no you won't lose pressure.
The bad thing about that is when doing rat nasties, the water in the waste tank is super nasty as oppose to the machine with bypass valve to the waste tank, the dirty water is somewhat diluted with clean water that's being dumped, it also has a huge effect on odor, I have to clean the waste tank more often than the machine with functioning thermal relief valve, I gotta get that done before spring for sure.

Anything to keep the odor down on the tank is a plus. Nothing worse than firing up the unit and realizing that the waste tank is stinking up the place....especially when there are people watering their flowers next door.

If I had a complaint about butler systems, it would be the waste tank design as there is always some left on the bottom after dumping. Even parked on a steep hill and hitting it with a garden hose, you still can't get it all out.

Sorry for the temporary hijack...I kind of drifted there. It sounds like the bypass valve is a good idea...so get it done. bounce

Matt; My carpet cleaner wrote:So is it different than the sensor that dumps hot water in the waste tank, when the water gets to hot??
Cuz 140' or even 190'-- opening up to bypass isn't that hot.
OR those two different sensor bypasses??
No big explanation needed, but clarification will do.
yes two different valves bypasses?
the dema valve controls the temperature of the water in the high pressure lines (heat exchangers) by dumping some of the hot water to control the set temperature
the water box heat control valve it will open at 140* normally to keep the water passing the water pump cool , preventing any heat damage to the pump seals
this valve or sensor can be installed at the water box if the TM has one or at the pump returning line
