With a 3/4 ton   all   is well with the world.

Mine doesn't feel  its going to tip over but it did look like it was leaning not so bad now with big tires. I was using regular passenger van tires before. I think the cargo capacity on my cargo van is 2k pounds.

Anyone know ow much of a payload capacity increase could I see with aftermarket springs, shocks etc

That is a loaded question. It isn't what your van can carry as how much does the DOT allow you to carry? Even if you upgraded the springs, brakes, and axles, you are still only allowed the GVWR of the 1/2 ton van. You can probably carry a lot more now, but the government says no.

That is why those Super Duty trucks cost so dang much, they are a 1.25 ton trucks so you are allowed to carry a lot more. That is also why military surplus trucks still hold high value too...that 1.25 ton ratings.

I think that if you beefed up the front suspension it would reduce the stress created when you stop, especially if fully loaded. That would give you a much more level ride and yes, I think it would help.
