Should I sell My Roto Vac 360i
Heres the deal, I love the thing. However I hate carrying a bunch of tools and stuff in my van it gets to cluttered.
Wand, tile spinner, various brushes, groomers etc. 17 inch rotary, pads, pad drivers, and rotovac.
I normally wand , and pre scrub with 175 as needed. Pull the rotovac out on occasion , mainly for my ease rather then results.
Thinking of replacing the 17 inch 175 AND rotovac with a light weight 13 incher for scrubbing and small vlm jobs, leaving the 100 pound 17 incher in the shed to be taken out for commercial work.
That would clear up a lot of space and simplify my daily operations. I would hate to find my self regretting it later. lol What do you guys think, can you live well without your rotary extractor?

Re: Should I sell My Roto Vac 360i
I don't have one Andy but when I considered buying one that was my first thought. Were would I put it? Right now I hang my wand on the ceiling and the spinner I wedge between the wall and the reel.
After thinking about it. I have a bulk head between tm and seats I bet I could install hangers and put the rotovac there. The handles are pretty wide so not sure if I would be able to hang the spinner there as well.
I think what takes a lot of real estate in your set up is the round fresh water tank, I wonder if you went with something else if that would free up some space for you.
You tested the Hot Rod. Did you get the same results pre scrubbing with that as you do with the 175?
I would probably keep it just in case you were injured, the RE might allow you the opportunity to keep working. But then again I tend to hoard and not sell stuff.

Re: Should I sell My Roto Vac 360i
I never got the hot rod to test, figure the guy got feed up with floating it or just forgot to send it to me.
However I highly doubt it would scrub near as well as a 175. I think your right about keeping it , that's exactly why I like having it, when my arm gets sore or if I just had a long day I can pull the 360 out on the last job of the day and finish with out further exertion.
I think I will just end up getting a small 13 inch 175 and retire the big one to commercial only.

Re: Should I sell My Roto Vac 360i
After not having any work and being out of shape I used my old triple s 175 yesterday on a greasy Chinese Restaurant and then HWE and the owner was amazed how beautiful it turned out. All he could say is that thing is old. It may be old and out ways the van but it does do a good job. After that job I went and did a huge sixbedroom with 6 dogs who peed everywhere so I was to tired to get 175 out and lug up stairs i just used my crb but wondered would a rotovac, hoss or rx 20 be better right now? I felt like my lungs were going to burst and I dont even smoke.

Re: Should I sell My Roto Vac 360i
On that job with all the dogs, the crb was the right call as it would pull up all the dog hair better than any rotary. Getting that hair out of the carpet is the secret to getting the dog smell out of the carpet, so you made the right call.
I too would keep the tool and only load it in the van for jobs that require it. Either that or mount it outside the van...maybe use a trailer hitch basket and mount it there?

Re: Should I sell My Roto Vac 360i
yes!...sell it.
If you are asking you already know. If its not really being used then why would that increase? dump it while it still has a good value.
Ive been called a gypsy more than once!..lol but i wont keep anything I dont use.
I knew milspec would store it...lol I have no room in my life for clutter.

Re: Should I sell My Roto Vac 360i
I use to have a basket mount and boy I could put the saws and tools on that thing, good idea for 175. It always bugged my wife because of the extra length on the back, but it sure worked good.

Re: Should I sell My Roto Vac 360i
I would keep it. Even after digging up pet hair with a crb the 360 still digs out more. I just cleaned a trashed place with a lot of residue from another cleaner and it's nice to flush and extract easily without a lot of extra wand strokes. Just let it hover and do it's thing. I can't imagine living without a rotary. You can run bonnets on it too if you want. I don't have any experience with that though, just saw it on Rotovac's website.

Rotovac on ocassion
I hate carrying a bunch of tools
I normally wand
Pre scrub with 175
Replacing
Simplify my Daily operations
After these words I think you should sell....with that being said, I cant live without rotary extraction. If you regret it later then buy the latest and greatest then.

I store everything and keep building more sheds....less grass to mow that way. I'm like the Fred Sanford of cleaners.

Re: Should I sell My Roto Vac 360i
I would keep it, the tool is so versatile.
It sucks for tile/grout extraction but scrubs it well with the aggressive brush.
I have the bonnet head, it sure beats carrying a 175 up some stairs and still does really well with pads.
On super nasties I dont use it though surprisingly these days, I prefer the crb plus wand.
I use the 360 on the really big mostly clean empty homes that are going up for sale... put some lower flow jets on that thing and you can plow through some carpet.
The other situations are when the customer has obviously been using a bissell or rug doctor for years and you need to do a lot of flushing to get all the soap out, or a pet stain situation where its small amounts all over the house.. like some small lap dogs, ridiculous to water claw would be there for 3 days, so the 360 deep flushing is the next best thing.

Re: Should I sell My Roto Vac 360i
That being said I love the oreck orbiter, Ive been using it on almost every job.
Its so light you can easily carry it in one hand without any strain. Wand, hydro force, and oreck all in one trip easy pz. I like it so much for stairs Ive been on craigslist looking for another, the 10inch fits the treads perfectly.

Re: Should I sell My Roto Vac 360i
After some hard thinking , I decided to put it up for sale, can use the money towards some marketing I've been meaning to do. If the marketing pays off, I will be able to buy another one real easy.
I like the idea of bidding I bought the up graded 4 jet head (paid 500), also have the 3 jet head, it's not as aggressive but dries a bit better,
also bought the pad driver (paid $150)
SO you got a 360i with two heads (4 jet & 3 jet) also the pad driver
Bid has to start at $950, if no one here wants it, I will Craig's list it.

Re: Should I sell My Roto Vac 360i
That is a pretty low starting bid....a rotary for less than a grand is a very good deal.
Give us to the end of the week before going to CL in case some are just too busy to check the forum right now. You also might change your mind and decide to keep it.
Oh and how about a picture? I know the 360i, but not much about the upgraded head.
