Angie's List vs. Yelp Customers..

Does anyone truly have any experience with Angie's List vs.Yelp customers?

I'm not talking "Yelp sucks, because I've read that", or you only have 5 reviews and don't get calls.

I'm talking about a true comparison, based on having 15 or more reviews on both, or enough to make them work.

I'm convenience that AL members are from a much higher income bracket and almost all homeowners, where the same can't be said for Yelp users.

Anyone else have any real world data/stats or personal experience?

Heck, I'm not picky.........I'd Love to hear just about your AL experiences, and thoughts on wither they are mostly good customers and homeowners or not?

I have plunty of Yelp knowledge of my own, and just really looking to compare the two, honestly.

just less younger people on AL here than it seems on yelp.    idk though I know yelp does great for some but here there are cheap companies that have hundreds of reviews on there

hard to compete with the 3A 89 deal in and out encap job when they have like 130 good reviews

You can tell who Angies list customer are by looking gat their commercials. Their typical customer is a baby boomer. They have more disposable income, own more property, and are living a more comfortable retirement. That's from my personal experience

That has proven to be true in my town. We are always rated in the top ten places to retire in the US. and Angie list is definitely more popular here than Yelp.


Yelp customers are younger they use the mobile device to search for a product or service, 51% are under the age of 34, 41% earn under 50K,

If you want to target Angies List customers and don't want to pay to advertise.  You would need to target the retirement communities in your area or better yet do both.

I dont see either of these working in my area...maybe Yelp to a degree but im in a small town and we are all pretty much a captive audience here....we are the biggest city around but still small.....OKC wont really come this far so its just who is here is who is here...more about who you know, quality and price factors.

My problem is more like this...within two weeks everyone will know im here and back at it.....I just need to get my number in a place for access when they are ready. Phone book is small and nearly dead here....news paper is fair but small and getting smaller.....Word of mouth is my golden sword but how will they retain my phone number?
