Little Giant Heater
Things have been on-hold with my Bud truck for the past few weeks since finishing the TM installation. I mounted my propane belly tank and regulator, but U-haul refused to fill it due to the age of the tank. Being more than 12 years old required a "re-certification" which costs more than a new tank.
So, I gave up on the truck for awhile until I could decide if I really wanted to buy a new tank or just use a tank mount with dual 20 lb bbq tanks. Sad part is I still am not certain, but I think I need to try the bbq tank idea to find out if it is a pita or not.
So, I purchased 2 tanks and will be mounting the rack between the cab and the box with a plastic cover to hide it. Then all I would have to do is set the tank on the ground and connect to the heater. I can exchange them at nearly every gas station in this area so access will be very simple and I should be able to get by for a week on 2 tanks with residential.....not so much on commercial.
The next problem is the connection. I really don't know what regulator would be needed to connect a bbq tank to the LG heater. I know that they sell a cart system with a #2 heater and 20 lb tank, so somebody must know the answer out there.....any advice?
I am hoping to get this matter resolved this weekend so that I can get this truck on the IMAX theater job on Tuesday. If not, I will probably call Little Giant on Monday for advice.

Re: Little Giant Heater
Man it's never ending huh.
My only experience with what you're talking about doing is with.............
My added Tee fitting and hose I connect before the reg. on my belly tank to then connect a BBQ tank for fuel when needed.
So to simplify my BBQ tank it being regulated by the same reg. on my belly tank....and it's always worked well.

Re: Little Giant Heater
Thanks, I will start there.
It has been a pita thus far, but at least the heater isn't leaking. I ran it at 1500 psi thus far to test the coils....everything is dry.

Re: Little Giant Heater
Go to home Depot I think they have a dual tank hose and connect it to the regulator you have. If you have the room behind the cab and Bx just mount it and leave it, you could put two 30 lb tanks that would be 14 gal of lp vs two 20 lb or 8 gal lp in the same space. If home Depot don't have it a RV shop will, campers have used that setup forever.
