We cleaned a home today with lots of furnitures and the carpets are pretty trashed, I asked my tech if he wants to use rotovac or wand, he said I prefer roto, I said okay, I got it out and set it up while he was pre spraying, asked him again if he wants to wand some areas in the bedroom, he said I think I can do it with the roto, mind you the gap between the bed and dresser is only about 2+ feet, I said okay, he got started, I was surprised, he maneuver around the beds and furnitures really well, I would've wanded the whole thing down if I were by myself and just nuke the carpets with pre sprays, lol.

ya the 360 gets in spots just as well as a 14in wand, just not corners but it does edges better than a glided wand because the shroud is really thin

LOL, he doesn't !! It's just funny because he was such a huge nature of habit and hesitated a lot when I introduced him to rotovac and now he seems to want to use it even on carpets that's just lightly soiled.
I still prefer wand on lightly soiled and medium soiled ( if spaces are tight ), but on heavy soiled, I wouldn't mind maneuvering that thing through anything Razz

They are slower....that's why I wand the commercials, but I think the customer is impressed by them when deployed.

That's weird because I don't feel I can get the edges as well with the rotary as I can with the wand. And corners, forget it.

I prefer wanding because Ive always done it that way....I do like to use the HOSS when things get challenging as far as soil goes.....earlier in the week I had a job where the lady said to just do two small rooms because the big room (22X36 converted garage room) just wouldn't clean....I asked her if she wanted me to test an area....I knew she would want it cleaned if I could get in there.....anyway I CRB'ed the entry to it then pulled out the HOSS to do the rest of the carpet, I wanted to wand it but knew I was going to add the big dirty room! Anyway, I was as surprised as she was and knew just wanding without the HOSS and CRB I wouldnt have been able to pull it off. $300 wasnt a bad add on!

I have the weapons I need to win this fight.

ACpower1, Have you trimmed the ends off your glide flush with the edged of the wand so you can get closer to the wall? I use a hole wand and after trimming it flush I cut a slot in both ends. It's amazing how much debris along the wall gets sucked into the slot. When I start a room I pick one end and run the wand along the wall. The I start my regular wand cleaning. That way you can get up close to the walls. I bought a 360i for my night truck so have never used it on a residential job. I use an RX-20 on really trashed carpet. I like the balance much better than the 360i. So does my night technician/grandson. It always amazes me how much more debris is removed from deep in the pile as compared to the wand.
