Vacuum Cleaner
I know we have had this topic before but I can't look it up because it is on that other board , So I have to ask again to get it on the RC/Cleaners Lounge, what is another great vacuum that is pretty light in weight?
Thanks
Thanks
Re: Vacuum Cleaner
we carry this one on our vans. been happy with it. cost $250. pretty durable, mine is starting to fall apart. its been on the van for about 18 months. just wear and tear parts, still runs very well and digs crap of of carpet great. easy to work on and unclog on those trashed house that come from time to time.

Re: Vacuum Cleaner
Like Ryan I use the bag-less Sani 5845......I even sell them to my customers, at a nice markup.
It's not light but sure it quiet, sucks well , and it's well built.
It can be had for just over $200 online.

Re: Vacuum Cleaner
Central vac attachment, no cords, very light weight, better vacuum because your blower is turning it. Make sure to use knee highs in your filter.
Re: Vacuum Cleaner
Personally, I prefer Electrolux commercial vacs.
Dual motor, fairly quite, and no, not bagless.
I used to like the bagless thing. Until you realize that those seals on them wear out and filters need changed often. My bags cost about 50 cents each. So 50 cents on each job is not a real expense.

Re: Vacuum Cleaner
I run the Sanitaire SC5815B, it's just like Ryans except that it has a bag. It has been a great performer.

Re: Vacuum Cleaner
They may be heavier, but with the power drive transmission, they are probably the least effort to use....and faster.Fuzzsucker wrote:Kirby... no wait, thats the heavy one...
Re: Vacuum Cleaner
Kirby Ultimate G Diamond Edition. I know it's heavy but that one of the many reasons it works so well.
Re: Vacuum Cleaner
And you can pain your house with it too:bounce:milspec6 wrote:They may be heavier, but with the power drive transmission, they are probably the least effort to use....and faster.Fuzzsucker wrote:Kirby... no wait, thats the heavy one...
Re: Vacuum Cleaner
That's what I run is a couple of kirbys. I also have a dc12 for backup. I like the dyson for its edging wand. Kirby is a better and more rugged vac but it is a pain to use any of the edging tools.
Re: Vacuum Cleaner
wow where the hell did you find that?Joe EcoPro wrote:http://store.cleartrak.com/ I think this will be my next vac
have you seen one in action?
looks strong
Re: Vacuum Cleaner
I also prefer Kirby. I really like the durability and that they will suck up a lot of the big stuff that others I've tried will not. Cheap and easy to repair also. I actually like the older ones though personally. The newer ones have more suction and look better when you're not doing rentals though.

Re: Vacuum Cleaner
Ron Werner introduced me to this vac. He is a well respected cleaner that I trust. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IO0XXppCmcU&feature=c4-overview&list=UUyYgdSX2ZwQmwQPNrvJ_FvA
Re: Vacuum Cleaner
because of residual smell of a well used vac and also time/cost of maintenance, etc
we now use anything that is 12amps, has a good brush bar and has both carbon and hepa filters
my favorite is the bissel clean view, about $70 brand new.. we use it for a while and then just donate it to a customer or family friend etc that needs.
imho, all vacs used well the motors weaken over time, anything with 12amps is going to pull a lot of dry debris out of carpet
side by side with our sc99 the cleanview is very comparable (when brand new, versus a sc99 that has seen over 100 carpets)
the soft outer bag on the sanitaires start to smell after doing several homes with lots of pet hair, then the bag needs replacement ($70)
so we have retired the sc99s and are very happy with the cheaper disposables, 12 amps is 12 amps... one is mostly plastic and the other is more metal durable parts.. but plastic will last you 6months easy.
anytime there is major dry removal needed, we just use the strong dry anyways.
no extra maintenance is needed in this business, already enough to keep up on

Re: Vacuum Cleaner
Sebo G2 here, very very light. Expensive but well built. For restoration or commercial work I use Certified Pile Lifter (beast and heavy).
Re: Vacuum Cleaner
Bought my first Dyson. DC50. Smaller version of the DC41. Costco has them for $300.
I've always been a Sebo/Windsor guy. Still am. But this little vacuum works well and takes up very little space. The engineering is pretty impressive.
Downside is that you have to carry attachments. But that's expected in a lightweight vacuum. It smokes the Oreck in performance, and still has a hose that detaches.

Re: Vacuum Cleaner
Well I disagree with all of your choices in Vacs.
Aren't we supposed to set ourselves apart from what the homeowner has with our advanced commercial state of the art equipment?
I prefer my Powr Flite Backpack
with an oreck power nozzle.
I got the vac from powr flite and used to use their power nozzle but when the nozzle crapped out on me last summer, I did an online search and found the Oreck power nozzle at a restaurant supply, it has a cogged belt and actually eats coins and paper clips no problem, can your vac do that?

Re: Vacuum Cleaner
I can't get used to backpack vacuums. Powrflite makes a nice one, but incidentally, the public can buy it also. I don't know of a vacuum that's only available to carpet cleaning professionals.

I agree with using professional grade tools instead of homeowner tools, we should always be showing them something they don't have. Vacuums might be the exception to that rule for me. I had been using ProTeam 1500XP vacs, but the Kirby actually did a better job at picking up soil and yes, they eat pennies as long as you have the nylon fan...mine actually sucked up 2-.44 magnum rounds on a job.
I think there are many homeowners who already believe that certain vacs (kirby, royal, etc) are the best, so choosing them are a positive in my opinion. There only flaws are that you don't have easy access to tools for crevices like you do on other commercial vacs, so I would recommend them for residentials mostly instead of commercials where you are chasing popcorn, sunflower seeds, and even .44 magnum rounds.

just wondering why that one? 8 amp is kinda low and single motor, not that dual motor is necessarily much better but a single 8amp seems kinda weak
Re: Vacuum Cleaner
I don't think the homeowner gives two cents what vac you use. We only tell our selves that. Those back PAC vacs are scary on a residential. It's like a camel walking in their house vacuuming. China cabinet? Family 4x7 photo. Yikes
