If you prespray several rooms, and it take you long enough to get to the last room; and the prespray has dried. Wouldn't your extraction/flushing just rehydrate the Chem?

I've been told by a couple knowledgeable people that's it's just the opposite.....I assume they know what they're talking about.

They basically said, if I remember correctly, pre-spray is a Surfactant. Which is explained in the definition below. And from what I understand, once dried, is no longer suspending the soil..............

Surfactants are compounds that lower the surface tension between two liquids or between a liquid and a solid. Surfactants may act as detergents, wetting agents, emulsifiers, foaming agents, and dispersants.

I don't normally have a problem with it drying on carpet, and I do spray a couple or few rooms at a time normally. But it's T&G where I run into having to re-wet/spray again because it drys so much quicker.

Hope that helps.

Good answers, presprays takes time to work. Sure, your extraction re-introduces moisture, but it doesn't have time to break the tension.

You can re-hydrate a room that has dried, but you will need to allow new dwell time before it is effective and even then it is at a reduced value.

If you put soap on your wet hands and dried up before you rinse it and then you put water on your hands, does it get foamy / still clean your hands ?
It happened to me before on commercial carpets, the results are still good, so for me it doesn't matter if it dries, it will still clean as well.

Depends on the product as well. Some are fast acting and some take more time.....same goes for soap, some lather up quick and others don't.

some say you need to re spray the rooms but Ive never had a problem.

did one the other day and after the first few rooms I realized the customer was blasting the heat and the rest of the house was at almost 80 degrees, I had the windows open in the rooms I was working so didnt notice.

went out to the living room and it didnt feel like it was pre sprayed anymore, dirty carpet and it cleaned up just the same as if it was still moist
