I already have one installed ACE. Do you have an engine sitting around?

Just buy new when it comes to motors. Used motors will no doubt have some issues. Its usually the reason that machine it came out of got disassembled in the first place. Just keep checking out the special area in that link. They have a 20hp built for a steamway machine on sale for about 1600. Shipping included. If you have any questions call those guys. They are very very helpful.

Yeah you're right fuzz. I'm just getting a little intimidated with the scope of this build and I want to keep the cost down in case I screw it up

My build cost 8k with all new parts. But I bought a frame pre built from a manufacturer and used my old waste tank. That may seem like alot, but it has the same components of a unit that cost 25k. Don't freak out now. Go deeper into that rabbit hole. You wont regret it. Plus you will really enjoy using your machine everyday and repairs are less intimidating because u put it together.

You wont regret it Mo if you take your time and plane it out.
l built a truck mount about 7 years ago. Kubota LPG (LPG probably same as propane) engine, Roots 45 blower, Cat 3CP Pump, engine coolant to solution heat exchanger and exhaust to solution heat exchanger.
Problem is you never really finish it. Had a digital temperature gauge connected to solution that can power a relay to control temperature but never got around to connecting the relay.

l have just started thinking about building a new truckmount and what l can do to improve it.

Here are couple of links to some engines. Don't know if you want the ignition and throttle mounted on the engine or if you are mounting them on the frame or what size shaft and length you would want. I would think at least an 1-1/8" shaft . You might find better deals elsewhere but this might help decide which engine you want.
I built one about 9 years ago with a 45 blower, 20hp Kohler and heat exchanger from John's. John talked me into the Kohler. He said it puts out more heat for the exhaust heat exchanger. Good luck Mo.

Thanks Larry and EJ. Yeah small engine warehouse has some great deal on engines. Were you disappointed with the Kohle Larry? Did you get decent heat? I talked to Don at Johns Heat Exchangers yesterday.

The only reason I'm even attempting this is because of all the experience on this forum from guys that have built TMs before

No I wasn't disappointed with the heat but I didn't clean any tile at the time either. The only draw back was letting it run about 10 minutes to build up heat in the mornings and then cool it down when finishing a job.
If you are going to run the engine on propane I would go with #4 propane heater as well.

Honestly if you can swing it, I would suggest running a dual heat system. Hx plus propane. You don't need amazing heat from a hx unit, just enough to get in to the 150s. Then the propane will keep up with whatever your doing. Can you say 240 on a 12 flow wand? Yes you can.

Also that will save you a ton on propane and if the place is in good shape just clean with the hotish water and use no propane.

Hey MO, I got a hillbilly plan for you, nice and simple.

All you have to do is bolt your motor on and couple that to your blower.. I will send you a video of my pump system that by passes all the complexity, then you need a little giant for heat. You could be up and running in a few days if you want to go simple.

Let me know if you want to see my hillbilly system and I'll get you a video.

If you decide to go hillbilly , I might buy that pump form you if it will fit my 405.

Pulley identification.

The number and letters stamped on the blower pulley is 3TA54. The "3" identifies the number of sheaves. What do the rest of the numbers mean? Is the 54 the size? 5.4 inches?

I would go with the B grooved belt for the blower and run a 2 groove sheave. Thicker and wider belt and with 2 it covers more surface area.
The number pulls up a browning sheave if you google it. Probably could research it from there.

Thanks guys it looks like the last 2 numbers is the belt pitch diameter. I found the pulley on line and the diameter is 5.65".  I wanted to keep the 3 sheaves on the blower because that sheave is going to spin the pump.

According to this calculator. If i put a 6" pulley on the engine and run it at 2800 RPMs the blower RPM output would be 3360?

That's cool Andy way to keep it simple. What brand pressure washer is that? It a lot better than the Karcher I picked up a few years ago that model started leaking at the fittings. It looked like you replaced the plastic fittings on that one. Is the pressure washer running 1.5 GPM? Did I miss how you mounted the blower and engine? Thanks for posting that.

I saw your Yard Sticks laying under your hose real, makes me think I should make a video of the holder I made for mine to keep them tidy and from rattling around when driving?

What does everyone else do with them I wonder, throw them on the van floor also?

I didn't get to the motor and blower.  I'll get another video for you on that.  I can't really help you with the motor / blower set up,
(The hillbilly in the mountains of Idiho built mine.)  but I can show you what it looks like.

Send me an email I can't find your address,  then I'll email you the video link.
