Young people have no respect for anyone's time

I have sold a few truck mounts on Ebay many I had to resell many times because the buyer backed out after the winning bid. So I don't use ebay anymore of large $ items.

Carpet cleaners in general are a pretty much the same thing cant count how many times I am going to show a demo and the no shows
this is after the cleaner asks you with a 100 emails and dozen phone calls then sets up a demo and no shows.

Just trying to sell a 4k dollar truck mount cleaners are asking how much hose does it come with what kind of wand does that price include shipping and install. ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! no good deed goes unpunished.

I also cant count how many times cleaners will just use email only to communicate they want this and that pictures of every part billions of questions and never even get a name with the emails. I pretty much cut these short. When you ask for a company name and phone number the emails stop.

I am trying to sell my Subaru legacy same thing tons of questions with no names or phone numbers you ask and then the emails stop.

Talked to a guy last night tons of questions this and that GHEEE WHIZ it's only a  2500 dollar car that runs and drives great. So he said he would be by this morning. Half hour late so I call and ask if he is coming out I get this " well I guess I'm not coming out" thanks for the heads up. Then he asks if he can see the call latter in the afternoon.  errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!   

Even dealing with younger people and university students for carpet cleaning. Some only want to text and email. Some times when you show up their not even up or moved out yet.

I do have to say any of the transactions I have had with cleaners on this board have been very good a breath of fresh air when asked is that all pretty good price. You guys don't bitch about shipping costs either.

Yes. Another reason I'm picky who I deal with.
Not having a real site is driving the virtual people nuts.
I love it.

Thanks to Joe I now deal with some of the email only folks pretty much short If they don't pick up the phone and call or give me the proper info they are cut off.

I feel your pain. I have learned as a general rule that the more questions someone asks the less likely they are to use you. I have learned the hard way not to book these clients. Instead, I steer the conversation to having them give me all there contact info and tell them to call me the day before they need me. Most don't want to give you their info (so you know they're not serious) and the rest don't call back. I don't know how much time and gas I have saved. I have found that the clients that are serious ask when you can come and solve their problem, give you their info, book the job, and then ask how much it's going to cost.

Isn't strange how you can pick up on things like that Eric that's the experience kicking in.

problem is I want to be nice and helpful to people but you can only go so far before they start to abuse the kindness. Which they will if you give them enough line.

I just cant understand carpet cleaners wanting info about things and then not wanting to give any personal info. It has to be a two way street.

There are quite a few manufacturers out there that do this to gain info too.

It's the world we live in today. Folks have no curtsey about other people's time. Most think nothing of playing games with other people. Pffft. Like my time has no value.

In my past experience, craigslist works but most people from there are really flaky, and btw Mo, I just gave you a positive reputation by accident, ha..ha..

craigslist tire kickers, swear some people are addicted to pretending to buy stuff they dont have the money or space for

and never let them come to your house to "check out" what you have for sale...

next morning the 2013cbr is gone out of the locked, alarmed garage... alarm magnets are disabled, doors are still closed but unlocked.

a real pro theft, thats whos on craigslist "looking to buy" a perfect place for professional thieves to check out the inside of your house or garage.

almost forgot my craigslist story

just about 2 months ago I was cleaning a house in Bellevue, an upscale area around here

customer told me some people would be stopping by to pick up some free craigslist stuff in the driveway she posted,

when we left there was a couple sifting through old books,

got a call that afternoon and someone had taken her 1400 dollar swing/playset that was in the front yard behind the fence, way away from the driveway of old books lol

I never have them come to my house and I always carry my little friend Sig Sauer

too many forums and just found this one,

also posted my company info on the last carpet cleaning forum and got 2 jobs no show no call, with new york area code #s was really wierd, the addresses didnt even exist
