Flaky people !

I just reposted my CL ad for my van and this guy texted me 2 nights ago around 10 something, I was asleep already, texted me again in the morning and when I responded, he called me, even though I stated clearly in my ad to TEXT ONLY in caps, he sounds like he wants to buy the van right away, I told him that I was leaving with the van and that he can come later on, he said ok, I came back home around 2:30 and started cleaning the van's seats and interior, front and back, at 105 degrees heat, texted him, told him that he can come at 4 pm, we were done cleaning around 4:15, he didn't show up, texted him, he said he's still working and that he will call when he's on break, he never called, I texted him this morning and he said that he will come, didn't say what time, I texted him again asking what time, he called and told me 11 am, 10:45 I texted him telling him that the van will be gone to work at 12, he texted me at 11:15 telling me he will be there right before 12, I told him not to come, too late, come next time, he was persistent, I called him and ask him, are you going to buy the van ?? He said if everything is good yes I'm buying it today, I told him okay come, told my guys to take the back up van, waited for him, he showed up, looked around, tested the cleaning machine and was impressed by how fast the heat goes up ( it's 105 degrees again today ), asked me a few questions, and then he told me that he's going to see another van and then make a decision.
The fact that he didn't buy it is not the part that pissed me off, the fact that he didn't tell me that he just wants to take a look at it is the one that bothers me, I feel like this guy really wasted my time and just ruined my plan for the day.
You just never know with CL buyer.

Yeah they're flaky on both sides of the sale. Some sellers don't return your call when you inquire about an item they're selling or they sell something and don't remove the as.

I have to ask the question, "Why text only"?

I think a lot of the chasing around would have been solved with a voice conversation. Around here, the worst thing about CL ads is that you can never get a hold of the seller. I have gotten to the point of never bothering with an ad unless they list a phone number that I can call...I ignore all the others.

This is the exact reason why I HATE CL in my area. They all are alike.

Run around like fools and never see any value in your time.

Reason for text only is I don't want them to call me during business hours since I might lose a customer or two while answering their questions, I also stated in the ad that I'm willing to talk on the phone within agreeable time, like after hours or early morning before I start answering phone calls from customers.

I just got done putting everything back in the van, all in all, it took 3.5 hours to remove all my sh!t from the van, clean, detailed the inside and putting everything back.

The bright side is the clean freak in me is really happy that everything is super clean

I keep forgetting that your phone rings a lot. I am more the Maytag repairman kind of cleaner sitting by the phone.
