Re: New wand on the way
Iv'e been having problems logging in the last few days, i always use google chrome on my mac or safari but mostly chrome, so i did the forgot password thing but still no luck so i tried my firefox browser and it worked so here I am.
Anyway i'm liking the new 2 inch tube wand, have not used it with the glide yet as i have not had any of those difficult to push the wand type carpets yet.
I feel like i'm getting better airflow (cfm) but maybe not as much lift, i base this solely, and i could be wrong, buy the sound of the suction at the wand, just sounds like stronger suction with the 1.5 inch tube wand, but when emptying my waste tank when using the 2 inch wand i am getting most of what i out in out, hell i don't know.
I'll keep using the new wand cause i do like using it

Re: New wand on the way
That is the trade off....volume vs lift with a 2 inch tube. That is why the vacuum opening size is so important. Narrower the opening, the greater the lift and then the volume increase will come without any negatives.
I would try it with the glide and see if you get the lift component back...I suspect that you will.

I will give the glide a chance and see how that goes, thanks

Re: New wand on the way
The larger the wand, the more cfm, the smaller produces more lift. The question that needs to be decided is do you have enough cfm to produce the required lift. It is a balancing act.
Re: New wand on the way
Plus green glide claimed ( and it’s proven ) that carpet dries faster with a glide !
I never tested that theory and unfortunately don’t intend to, I’m too damn old to clean without a glide

From what little exp I have using a party. A glide with holes is a must. The small holes produce more concentrated lift.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: New wand on the way
I think there are two things in play here.
1. The glide reduces the vac opening and thus increases the lift in the same fashion that obstructing the flow of a garden hose with your thumb increases the pressure and strength of spray...same way your psi valve does.
2. A glide keeps the vacuum on the fiber's surface allowing air to move beneath it instead of the non-glide which can press deeper into the fiber and end up closed off against the backing.
Glides move more air and with more lift every time. The downside is that they do not agitate well nor deeply like a non-glided wand which is why pre-scrubbing is an important step for superior results.

Re: New wand on the way
Well I have to say that i like using the 2 inch wand better then the 1.5 one, i always bring both but i always use the 2 inch one.
Water recovery is good with it
I have been using it without the glide but that is only because of the type of carpet i've been cleaning, when i run into one of those "hard to push the wand" type of carpets i'll slide the glide on and have at it
