How to use Powder Peroxide
Can we get some of the peroxide talk back, mainly how to mix the powder, how much per gallon etc?
Thanks
Thanks
Re: How to use Powder Peroxide
Do you mean sodium per-carbonate? I hated using it because it always has allot of filler in it, even the most powerful one I could find and if you use too hot water, you get unstoppable volcano! Liquid peroxide is the way to go IMO.

Re: How to use Powder Peroxide
Forgot to answer your question. It varies on the strength of product, but the one I used was 2-4 oz per gallon.

Re: How to use Powder Peroxide
If you want a good product to run through your metering system that has allot of sodium per-carbonate in it, try MasterBlend Soap Free. Its a great product, but I don't use it anymore due to the amount of wool I clean and so it became a pain.

Re: How to use Powder Peroxide
I agree with Bill on this one, I prefer the liquid peroxide. I have tried the soap free and Accelerate and they both did an ok job, but I did have a volcano episode that made me look like a fool.
Re: How to use Powder Peroxide
I like the liquid better and I use 35% and only 1 oz per ready to use pre spray
Re: How to use Powder Peroxide
Liquid is best. They usually mix sodium per carbonate with Sodium carbonate (soda ash or washing soda) Used as a filler and to boost alkalinity. Or otherwise called- Oxiclean
Re: How to use Powder Peroxide
I have been using powder for so many years, I'm really used to it and a little too stubborn to switch. I don't have exact measurments but I would guess 6 oz. per gal.

Re: How to use Powder Peroxide
Pat , how do you control it from erupting like a volcano when mixing it ?
Re: How to use Powder Peroxide
I use both, finding a good Sodium Percarbonate is challenge as mentioned a lot of filler.
Mostly using 12% liquid I mix myself. I bought the 27% spa brand, I use 57 oz of 27% then top off the gal jug with distilled water. The dilution calculator can be found by searching google,
I had posted the link on the other board. After I've passed 7 days I think I'll be able to post links. Anyway, no clogs with the liquid and much easier to mix with solution. However at times I bump it up with some powder. Good Luck!

Re: How to use Powder Peroxide
I'll mix it in a bucket then put it in the hydroforce. I won't tighten the cap either.Larry Henson wrote:Pat , how do you control it from erupting like a volcano when mixing it ?

Re: How to use Powder Peroxide
I never tighten caps to jugs when using peroxide. I sometimes will mix peroxide much strong, depending on severity of job. Experiment.

More topics to rework over. Peroxide is a topic that never gets old or is always sought out.
I've got 35% and usually add about 8 oz to the HF. Still learning this stuff. I did have a stain in rental I thought wouldn't gkne out. A sprayed some s/o supper spotter with and oz of 35% in a trigger sprayer. Sprayed in and scrubbed in with my shoe. Left and came back after three days. Bingo. Gone.

Re: How to use Powder Peroxide
The 8 oz in the HF sounds about right. I think I used about 12 oz on the apartment cleaning yesterday in a 7 qt inline sprayer.
Lately, I've been spraying ink stains with the peroxide before applying ink remover...took the stains out faster than I could blink! Great combination.

Very sensitive to high ph. Which is why this technique works.

That video with NO explanation? Can't say I really learned anything, but I guess that's why it's an "Ancient Secret"?
Wow, Ryan 8oz of 35% in HF, and I thought I was mixing strong @ 6-8oz of 17% in HF............Sounds like I need to reevaluate.
But then again, like Joe asked, what ratio is your HF at?.......I really have no idea on mine as it's the type that doesn't use metering tips, but rather has a little screw that adjust how much it draws.

Re: How to use Powder Peroxide
I use 1 cup of 27% Hp with my standard pre-spray in a pump up solo 2 1/2 gallon sprayer mixed warm to hot, but not too hot, unless your a fan of Vesuvius.

Ryan, we need to know the metering tip you are using (yellow or none) in your HF to calculate the % of Liquid peroxide you're putting down in your prespray.
Ryan's Super Spotter (3:1 water to S/O ?) = 1 oz of 35% in a qrt trigger bottle would be equivalent to 4oz in a gallon right?
So the calculator says:
Your final solution: 1.0938% H2O2.
By adding 4 ounces of your 35% Solution1 ( H2O2 ) to 124 ounces of distilled water you will achieve 128 ounces of a 1.0938% end solution.
Most guys are surprised to here that only 1% H2O2 will do any good, but it sure will.
Let's do the math on come of you guys' prespray and see.
Good idea surrounding ink stains with peroxide.
I think CTI teaches that too. I guess inks are sensitive to high pH.
Yellow tip or 1/8 dilution.
Yes supper spotter is one part soils and oils to three parts water. With one ounce of 35% peroxide. Great stuff. Eric (pro touch) liked it too, when we were cleaning together about a month ago.

Not much to explain just hose and cuff with any higher ph prespray to take out ink. Works like a charm. Rinse well after.
Re: How to use Powder Peroxide
I run 3 oz of 27.5% liquid H2O2 per rtu gallon in the Hydroforce. That works out to .6445% dilution for H2O2.
