I bought a ProChem machine from Eddie during the Christmas holidays for the Kubota engine but in the meantime have found another local machine with all of the componets minus the engine but including the blower, pump and heat exchanger for $ 900.00. Do you think this is a good deal.

I love a good bargain, but I would need more details...which machine, how many hours?

I bought a Bruin 2 from Eddie and I'm not sure which Prochem this is but it is the same platform and all of the parts are interchangeable by looking at it even down to the radiator mounting in. It has the exhaust heat exchanger, blower, cat pump and all of the extras I'm missing.

Sounds like you already answered your question....grab it. Worse case, you change your mind and part it out for twice that amount. bounce

Your right....I'm tight when it comes to spending money and know it's the right thing to do even for the blower....would cost me 3 times as much in a breakdown and having to replace it verses waiting on a deal to come around.

You are talking to the choir sir, I will analyze a purchase to death sometimes as well. Now when it comes to spending someone else's money, I am a big spender.

I really don't see how you can go wrong with that purchase as you describe it.

I am the exact same way. What helps me to decide is to ask yourself how you would feel if that deal was taken away while you were deciding? If you could take it or leave it, then wait for the next deal to come along...they always do. If it would make you pound your head into the wall, then grab the phone and get it done.

I agree but most times it would cost 3 times more and you would kick yourself in the butt forever.

I'm wrestling with that issue right now on anothr butler unit...just hanging out in front of me like a worm on a hook. It is a good deal, but I keep fighting the temptation.

Larry with all the parts being interchangeable it would be like having your own personal junk yard for your TM.

I waiting too long on a deal this summer and I lost out.

But I don't want a junk yard Mo....just a functional backup unit.

Before I give my opinion I have to warn you, I'm bias for prochem, however I seriously think that is an excellent deal considering brand new hx and water pump alone is already well over $ 900, please don't ask me how I know :-)
That being said, I'm also cheap and a sucker for the best deal out there, I wouldn't purchase or make an offer without researching the net and making sure that there's no better deal out there, but I wouldn't wait too long though, bring $ 700 cash and tell the guy, I'd give you $ 600 for this right now right here, if he said no, tell him $ 700, that's all I have, if he said no, just pretend to walk away, if he doesn't budge, then you know he's not going to budge, but I doubt it though, he knows it's not easy to sell a truckmount without an engine.
Good luck with your decision sir :-)

Mo, the one he's thinking of getting for $ 900 does not have an engine :-)
What kind of an engine are you looking for your built ? From time to time I go to craigslist and I can keep an eye for you if you'd like :-)

Mo, just quit being a tight A$$, and call OPE an order it!! lol  laughing
Don't bother with a used engine/someone elses neglected crap.  laughing

I just ordered a second one yesterday, CH730 25 HP Kohler Command Pro, this one for my friend who has the same TM I do and is also in need of a new engine.
So now that things are slowing down a bit we're going to get started this weekend figuring out what it's going to take to make the transplant happen!  Smile
