Exhaust hose??
Ok, here goes........
Part of my TM rebuild/restoration and Kohler engine upgrade is I'd like to route the 2.5" blower exhaust threw the van side door step to exit under the van and then go threw a secondary muffler to make the machine as quiet as possible. Soooo my question is, what type of hose do you use or have you seen used for this type of application??
Does anyone have any pictures of doing this type of thing, or know of any websites I might find it??

Re: Exhaust hose??
Here is an install job done by Powerclean in Australia.
They have diverted exhaust thru floor.

Re: Exhaust hose??
Davey take it to a muffler or exhaust shop. Try and add a length of exhaust pipe after the muffler to make it quiet.
Re: Exhaust hose??
The through the floor exhaust kit has a ss exhaust the same size as the blower exhaust on the unit then a silicon type hose that can be bought at most hydrolic hose shops here Cross supplies. Now to add another muffler you my need to check out the temp. rating because the back pressure from the added muffler will cause higher temp. at that hose point.
I have seen the exhaust routed through the back of the step not the bottom when exhausted through the back the exhaust hits the under carriage of the van and helps to make the noise level lower.

Re: Exhaust hose??
Like Larry said, your best bet is to talk to muffler shop, if you want to keep the noise level down you might want to look into a silencer, if you need silicone type hose, I have a couple short ones that you can use but they are huge though, came off of everest hp 650, let me know.

Re: Exhaust hose??
I called Stoddard regarding a silencer and they wanted to charge ridiculous amount of Mula for a one off.
Re: Exhaust hose??
My plan was originally to go threw the van step to route my exhaust under van to a secondary muffler....since my exhaust exits out the front panel of my TM like most.
BUT I've come up with a new plan!.....OPP Stealth Mode.
It's going to take some fabrication and frame modification but when I take my frame out to have it painted soon it will be the perfect time to do the mods.
My plan is to have the exhaust exit the van floor right inside the front of the TM frame instead of coming threw the front panel, and then taking up space on the step (I like to keep my RC99 on the step).
The good thing about doing it this way is not only will it look cleaner, but will also put the exit out under the van in the right spot to connect to the secondary muffler.

Re: Exhaust hose??
Funny, I keep the RC99 in the same place...seems to be a perfect fit.
Routing that pipe that way, will it trap heat inside the TM frame? It sounds like a good idea to me, never liked the way a slide-in vented exhaust through the step, but there must be a reason for it.
Then again, the reason may just be lazy or uncreative.

Re: Exhaust hose??
That is a good idea Dave and you don't have to worry about getting burned. Is ot going to be easy to remove if you have to take the tm out. Will the heat from the pipe make the tm hotter since it will be inside the panel now. Not sure if you understand what I mean
Re: Exhaust hose??
That is what I was thinking to Mo. Will the exhaust trap heat around your wiring or belts? That would be a concern if it did.
