If you have a resource for renting air movers and dehu units, there isn't much investment. What you will need is to get familar with Exactimate as that will often be the only way that you will get insurance jobs. Without it, you are just speaking a different language.

I did it for a few years, but once I went back to a day job, I couldn't be available 24 hrs a day to respond to a flood job...which you have to be .

There is good money in it and a lot of it is sitting around waiting for things to dry while you charge rental fees. There is also a lot more headaches and logistics to it (insurance adjusters, homeowners, crews, rental companies, Exactimate, etc.), so if you don't mind those things, then go for it.

I couldn't and I left it. I still have most of my testing gear, a few dehus, and air movers, and specialty stuff if you are interested in limping into that arena.

Yes, I do flood work, but no smoke damage........I do emergency service, and dry-outs......the rebuilding I leave to the contractors.

I think I've started or posted in a thread or two on here about flood work.  wink
