175 then wand?
Crb then wand?
Rotovac or rx20?
Which process gets the carpets cleanest?
Those that have used a 175 and a crb other than ease of use which one gets put more stains and rips through nastys?

I am thinking of buying a crb but worried it won't kick as much bootie as my heavy 175.
Reason I don't want to use it is my hips and knees are cracking and swelling because of the weight carrying it up multiple sets of stairs.
Thanks dudes!

I like to use the rx-20 if it is real dirty. The plastic is for the dog pee I guess.

I like crb and wand on the nasties, it just digs up so much hair fuzz and debris and when you have some cheap builders grade its the best tool for it.

When its not a nasty we run the rv360 because it wows every customer, gets lots of referrals as many of them havent seen one yet and are used to stanley steamer. I like the rv360 because its really light weight and reasonable to use on all jobs, plus dry times are like 1hr sometimes less as long as you do dry passes.

the rotary is great on nasties too, but if there were long haired animals there then crb + wand

I would put a crb wand combo just a half a hair behind a roray extracter.

BUT It has advantages over a rotary extractor too. It is WAY FASTer, , and drier,

a good system for all carpets, ( IMO a rotary extractor is over kill on normal soil) ,

It also has advantages over a 175, MUCH lighter , extremely easy to use, the scrubbing is from the bottom up, digging Deeper then a 175 and lifting the emulsified dirt to the top for easy extraction one pass cleaning.

another bonus it how beutifull you can post groom a carpet with a CRB, only problem is once in a while it can leave fuzz balls, and such that have to be vaced up. (unless you have collection bins)

I crb and Rotovac 99% of the time. Easy on the body and tough on the dirt. Can't compare it to a 175 because I don't have one.

CRB over 175 any day!

The wand vs. RX20 is a whole different deal.
But with chems and equip (mainly wand) so much better than they use to be, most of the time wand only cleaning gets it done for me.  wink

Use the crb to pre scrub and then wand or Rotovac. I run without the renovators quite a bit to show the customer all the hair and debris that was dug out and the Rotovac picks it up nicely. My wand doesn't pick up the clumps of hair too good, so if wanding I would definitely run the renovators.

We run 1 renovator on the back so it grabs most of it, then the wand can handle whats left

if you have the renovator on the front its hard to deal with walls, with out it youll clean the baseboards a little lol

we pre vac, then spray, then dig with the crb.. when the carpet is just a little damp the hair seems to clump and come into the trays better

We pre vac for two hours, prespay, crb, rotovac, edge, then bonnet with a trinity op to dry, then crb the stain guard in, then we bring in two dehus and twelve fans. All for the low price of $300 a room.  Shocked

Good posts! I can't wait ! Seems to me I should be able to do 3 more jobs a week and have better joints and happier customers all in one purchase . So far just wanding and my drimaster has made me more money and saved my joints . Now to be able to do the nasties with out having to lift 100 lbs up stairs!
Will the white brushes still dig out weed tar? Or do I need the blue ones?

CRB machines are the tool of choice on builders grade poly and pet homes to rid the hair balls. I don't think they scrub all that well compared to a 175 or orbital with standard brushes (especially on commercial), but it is easier to carry around.

As a cleaner with horrible knees (up to 5 surgeries now), I find that the crb with wand is good for light to medium soil loads. Anything with bad traffic patterns or heavy stains / soil loads always gets a rotary extractor.

I've never used the 360i, but I don't find the Hoss 700 too bad to carry up flights of stairs when needed. My rx-20 is first floor usage only.

Yes u will want to use the blue ones. The white ones are useless unless you do alot of high end area rugs.

I use most of the time on residential crb (host) and wand combo, but when comes to berber type or any CGD I prefer 175 with beige FPP (fibre with fibre for deep agitation) then wand.
If a need to pick only one option CRB hands down.

We use 17 inch brush pro than clean 90% of the time with hole glide wand, 10 % of time will use brush pro, than rotary dry master . We use the blue brushes and both renovators on each and every job, usually will show the client what we have picked up with the brush pro- The end result has been really satisfying to us as well as our clients For steps we have been using a 4 inch soft brush from Drill Brush and the step tool from wanders-- the drill brush have given us excellent results on some really nasty steps

Vacuum, pre-spray, crb with renovators then wand it. Crb has kicked ass for me plus I like the weight. Not to heavy to carry. Specially with bulging disc in neck.

I've not used a 175 for any reason in years. I still have a couple, should probably get rid of them.

I find chemistry to be more critical than equipment. But I use CRB, OP, HWE. Depends on the fiber and soil load and soil type.

We use the brush pro ( 17 inch) mainly to work the prespray- we use a turbo vacuum when we see the need to pre vac. The brush pro does such an excellent job on the prespray as well on the pile lifting- there are many times that clients comment on the carpet after the brush pro has been used, they are under the impression that we are done after we have used the brush pro, than we extract with wand or the rotary dry master
