I did the same thing with windshield sealant (self-sealing silicone) last summer as a precaution...worked well.
Re: RC99 anti leak video
Well I got 2 RC99 yesterday and tried them for the 1st time today, I'd have to say it's one hell of a filter, it doesn't leak at all, not sure if Joe had done something different after that one dude posted video in the other forum trashing RC99 saying the filter leaked water.
I also got an extra lid with dual port output for dual wand and tried the lid in 2 different machines ( regular everest and everest 650 ), in the 650 suction on both hoses are great but on the regular everest suction is very poor, but with single port in the regular everest my tech felt a huge improvement in the cfm, still going to figure out the problem.
Just throwing my opinion, take it however you want, I'm nobody's b!tch, I pay full price for my filters and JB did NOT ask me to post this.
When I use single port lid in my everest 650 my hose howls and I usually don't sweat much in the winter but I was dripping sweat after doing just 1 room.

Re: RC99 anti leak video
Ok, let me try to speak "english" here, lol.
Tried the dual port lid on both machine ( one with smaller blower and the other one with bigger blower ), the suction in the machine with smaller blower is not good at all ( according to techs ), but in the bigger blower is great, now keep in mind the smaller blower is 48.

Re: RC99 anti leak video
Why wouldn't it be good with the smaller blower? Are you saying it's worse suction w RC than you had with pool filter?........how could that be?
My suction was a huge improvement with RC vs pool filter with my small 36 blower.

Re: RC99 anti leak video
Oh wait a sec. are you trying to dual wand with smaller blower, and the reason the suction isn't good?!?......if so, weeelllll DUH. did you do that with the pool filter? lol

Re: RC99 anti leak video
And as far as the RC99 "leaking", mine has never leaked as long as I Evacuate the water out of it before shutting down.........if there's not water sitting in it, there's nothing to leak. No different than any other filter.......if a filter is full of water it's prob going to leak out, doesn't matter what filter, because it's not made to work like that. As long as it doesn't have a suction leak while under vacuum, it's working good, I'd say.

Re: RC99 anti leak video
Yes when I said dual port it means I was dual wanding and I wasn't comparing the RC99 with the pool filter at all ! I was simply comparing the 2 lids ( single port and dual port for dual wanding ) and comparing their usage in 2 machines. One is smaller blower and the other one a bigger blower.
And regarding the leaks, mine doesn't leak at all, even when there's water in it after the cleaning. I can take a video but I'm too lazy, lol.

Re: RC99 anti leak video
Ok, well I guess that would be helpful.....
It all finally make sense, but again it comes across like an unfair slam to the filter. When in fact your smaller blower TM doesn't have the power to dual wand, and no fault of any filter.
For comparison sake, we should compare apples to apples.
So, how does the suction compare with single port RC vs pool filter?

Re: RC99 anti leak video
BTW, if you're dual wanding, I assume you're running 2.5" hose from tank to the filter, or 2) 2" hoses from tank to back of filter, right?

Re: RC99 anti leak video
Omg, did you read my original response ?
I said I was sweating after doing the 1st room, I usually don't sweat much in the winter, you should re-read everything again, or should I re type them in Indonesian ? Lol.
And I also said that the dual port lid works great in my everest 650, the smaller blower is a 48 blower, I think ? It's the everest Efi, may be Matt can confirm this because he has the same everest I believe ?
And I asked JB already and he told me to take a look at it myself in action cause inexperienced technicians can miss a lot of things, no offense Jdam those were JB's words not mine, lol.
I'm trying to be fair and give honest review.
And yes I was running 2 - 2" hoses from the vac ports on my machine to the back of my filter, I'll update this review next week when I actually run dual wand again in that smaller blower.

And just to be clear, with single port / single wand in both machine the cfm increases is very much noticeable.
Great filter at great price, I won't go back that's for sure.

Re: RC99 anti leak video
Yes its a 47 blower.
The duel ports are 1.75" ID. Can you say choke.
I don't duel wand so I can be any help.
As you may recall, I bypasses those ports by going 2.5" right from the top of the waste tank lid. My rc99 is 2.5" on both ends. Then about 40' of 2.5". Then 50- 75' of 2" to the wands. On one wand setting I got PLENTY of suck.
Don't know if the ports being 1.75" is limiting the air flow when dueling??
My first experience with the 2.5 hose @ 200 ft was unbelievable!! On single wand setting! That was 50 of 2.5 and the rest was 2". And a 14" wand. I was floored with the air flow. Made me a believer.

Re: RC99 anti leak video
After I was rudely interrupted, by someone using my profile name on this form (notifications going off the hook on my cell phone) I figure its about time to take that first step in deep water... And write my first post on the forum.
It seems that i was mistaken this morning when I opened up the van before heading to the first job... Thought my boss got us a nice coffee maker for the van, but realized that it was the RC99 that he so eagerly has been waiting for.
Anyhow, just want to confirm that the RC99 does not leak and worked exceptionally well, using a single wand or tool with a smaller blower. We tried using a wand and upholstery tool simultaneously with the smaller blower and it was not enough suction to do the work, so we went back to a single tool.
Now, there could be different reasons for this and it could be the RC99, hoses, the blower or "inexperienced technicians". But regardless, I will say this, the RC99 is great and did the job as intended using a single tool with a smaller blower. (Whats a small blower or a bigger blower? you need to ask DP1)
As DP1 mentioned it worked well using two tools on a larger blower and killed us using a single tool... Actually got to see my boss sweat bricks cleaning carpet... And then the joke was one me, when he handed over the wand to me

Thanks Dave. Just our few conversations over lunch with you and DP were very informative and helpful to me. I'm learning a lot from DP and some of the other techs I work with... Never to old to learn.
