Joe valve is here

Just got my first thousand Joe valves.
We took the best little mini ball valve, called it Bob Foster valve for he was the one who told us all about it.
I bought & sold about 1,000 over the last couple years from his supplier up in Canada.
Most guys really like it.

Only problems were the red Lever was kinda long so it would accidentally open if you weren't careful. And the base of the Lever could wear through.
So I redesigned it with a shorter Lever and a Teflon disk under the Lever.

Great valve I got one I have been testing for a few months now and I'm very pleased.

Yep.  if you guys recall, it was Fuzzsucker (Hugger inventor) who wore hole through handle in Bob Valve, thus the Teflon washer underneath.  I asked Fuzzsucker and a couple others to test it. All reports positive so we moved forward.
It's been a long road to get us to this valve.  A project I've been on for over 9 years,   .



No reason other manufacturers with real engineers couldn't have solved it years ago... if they had wanted to...
You know the reason why they didn't... they wanted you guys to have a lower quality shutoff, so you would have to keep replacing it every few months.... mo money for them. 
Those days are over with the introduction of this Lil Joe valve.
Finally we have a mini valve that is averaging about a year of hard use by RCs.  Fact.
One by one we will take these products away from retail rip-off artists.

Yes, metric is best for precision.
Bob valve was the longest lived mini-valve I've ever seen.

Forged brass, good Italian ball & seat valve inside.

All I did was go to Viton orings and clip its wings.

Then I made it even lower profile so even Monsterman's midnight crews had a valve that held up.


And get this: it took a woman to finally get this one done. Say "thank you Wendy!"

I will keep the bob valve as a back up and let it roll around on my shelf. I might come in handy some day.

Way cool! I wish I had known! would have had you through a couple of these in with my 125' scheiffer skinny hose you just sent. Love this new hose! Hope it lasts a long as the GY Neptune. Guess I have to order more stuff now.

psi & temp rating are pretty much meaningless.
Manufacturers typically understate ratings to cover their ass.
Distributors typically overstate ratings to out sell their competitor.
Both groups are liars. 

Real Cleaners on the other hand, are the truth, for they are out in the real world using them.
It's why I fired suppliers and put real cleaners in their place... so we could actually solve some problems.

In this mini ball valve shutoff valve's case, I sell it direct to real cleaners with the claim that it will stand up to both carpet and hard surface cleaning.
I've made this claim with the Bob Foster valve and all the other POS valves I've sold before that.
Bottomline, Bob's valve was the first to really hold up to RCs. 

So forget psi & temp ratings and go with reality.

Two big reasons this valve is superior as far as pressure is concerned:

1. forged brass. much stronger than machined brass. The silver ones with black or yellow or red plastic handles, these are chrome plated 'machined' brass; they never hold up to higher pressures.  Trigger valves out of machined brass don't hold up either... witness all the POS trigger valves that have been made obsolete by the forged brass valve that Westpak makes. It's on several extractors now, the HOSS, Rotovac, etc. plus several wands like the Evolution.  Forged brass baby!  Stainless would be rated even higher but it would also cost more $$.  Honestly, I've yet to hear of Bob or mine fail, so why go to more expensive stainless? Let's keep the price down and replace all those cheap ass chrome plated machined brass shutoffs.
We don't even have to sugar coat it with chrome plating. 

If ya'll recall my blue handle shutoff,

it had a stainless body, so you'd think it would hold up better than brass... even forged brass. Well, it would have except for the fact that it only had one oring on the stem inside.  That was its main weakness - it blew out the top - a lot.  I swore if I ever made another shutoff, it would have two orings on the stem.

Why would suppliers sell us one oring ball valves all these years...

if not for they want us to fail?

I mean, you can study water faucet shutoffs...
 
 and see that they've been using dual orings for years...

So why the hell can't we have dual orings??????



2. Dual orings. We've all experienced shutoffs where the water came spraying out the top, around the stem; not likely to happen here. The Bob valve and this Joe valve both have two orings on the stem instead of a single oring.  Kinda like cheap QDs with just 1 oring inside the female and some trigger valves with just one oring on the stem; with two orings it just holds up better. 
Oh yea, the orings are made of Viton... another problem we've had to solve for ourselves!
Again, proof is in the pudding. I haven't heard of one of these valves blowing out the top. Not one!  Have any of you?   



Only real problem with the Bob valve was the handle; kinda long... would accidentally open, defeating the whole purpose of having a shutoff, right? So all I had to do was fix the handle.

Combine the forged brass, the dual oring stem and the compact low profile design   we've finally got a shutoff for real cleaners.

I've been wanting to be able to say this for about 9 years, "Go ahead and drag it around. Ha."
Cuz you know they're gonna do it. Right?

Like Dave, owner Monsterclean, Kentucky said, "BTW, that new 'Joe' valve is carpet monkey proof!  I put it on the lead hose of the most used commercial van, they've managed to knock all the paint off the handle but it still functions like new."
