Rust Removers

Just read about another guy's nightmare using a HF based rust remover. Hazardous, Risky. Downright Dangerous.  Totally needless.
Switch to Oxalic.  A one lb makes jar of the powder makes a whole gallon. And it works without the hazards of hydrofluoric.
Oxalic has never let me down.

If it gets on your skin, it burns horribly. I got just a tiny bit on finger tips - the doctors ended up splitting my fingers open to the bone to inject calcium to neutralize it. Not only did they do that, they also had to remove both fingernails. There's a reason fingernail removal is a form of torture.I'm fortunate enough to have kept my fingers, others haven't.
Even then I've lost any sensation in my fingertips.
I use Ultrachem Clean, it doesn't eat your body, b[size=24][size=13]ut there are lots of alternatives than Whink. Use them.

Good source for oxalic acid in powdered form?

I have always been told that Rust Remover is the most dangerous thing on our vans.

I still have a small jar of oxalic acid powder that I purchased in the 1990's
It takes 1 oz. per quart of water I believe. so a little goes a long way.

It's better at 4oz of powder per quart of water or 16oz of powder (1lb) per gallon, but who's counting?

Imagine if the retailers did what I did, offered a pound jar, yielding a whole gallon of concentrated rust remover?
... without the hazards of hydrofluoric acid...
You guys would get several years from the $29 jar.  That's too long. They'd go of business offering you value like that.
So they sell you water ... with a dash of oxalic powder and a plash of dangerous hydrofluoric ... at top dollar... hoping you don't know what a rip-off it is.

One-by-one, cleaners learn better.
