Re: ODO BAN Carpet Cleaner?
Did I read that right Diablo? That concentrate makes three times as many gallons as the one you bought at Home Depot?
Re: ODO BAN Carpet Cleaner?
whats the pH of odo-ban, just curious.. I would imagine if it cleans well then its probably not acidic.
I prefer acid rinse, all fiber rinse by matrix is my favorite... light deodorizer, speeds up dry times, and saves you from any possible call backs. Also boosts your cleaning power a bit. Key point is it leaves carpet baby soft.
its about $14 bucks a gallon, and you mix 16oz per 5gallon chem feed jug although you can mix it lighter if you like.
I think I pay about $54/case so its a bit cheaper
cleaned a place yesterday that was super stiff and starchy, I told the customer at some point they had a bad cleaning done

I believe if you mix it at its lightest cleaning power it would make 64 gallons of RTU product. It is a lot like SnO in the way you just add more to get a more powerful cleaner.
It can be used as bonnet cleaner, pre spray, spotter, or rinse.
I tried some today to early to tell if it is worth talking about.

Re: ODO BAN Carpet Cleaner?
I see I thought the other one was a more concentrated form of it. It would still be worth talking about if you don't think otbworks for you
Re: ODO BAN Carpet Cleaner?
I just realized something here gang....this product is being sold at the Home Depot and doesn't HD own the Chem-Dry franchise?
Makes you wonder a little doesn't it?

They have dumped their old system in favor of hwe.....does make you wonder, doesn't it?
Re: ODO BAN Carpet Cleaner?
So after you all talked about it I went to HD to find some and sure enough it was there, so I bought 2 gallons WTH $9 bucks a gallon.
Well I tried it today on some pretty dirty carpet and it wasn't to bad, this carpet is very old I think it was 1 gen stain resist carpet.
This was the dirtiest I cleaned today the rest were just normal and it cleaned pretty dang good.

Re: ODO BAN Carpet Cleaner?
Thanks Mo, it does do pretty good, I didn't do anything but pre-spray and wand, On the other carpets I cleaned today it did very well on them too. They were not nearly this bad in the pic above.
So for the first test it did okay, good enough to keep trying it out.
It looks like if you need more cleaning power you can just add more of it, not all PS's work that way I have noticed on some think oh all double the amount it really didn't make a difference.
I will keep trying it out and report back in a few weeks after I get some time with it.

Re: ODO BAN Carpet Cleaner?
What was your initial dilution ratio? Was the odor strong when you uped the dilution. I hear what you're saying about more is not always better. The gallon of procyon says not to exceed more than 4 oz per gallon
Re: ODO BAN Carpet Cleaner?
I have no tip in my HF I have been told that is 4 to 1. So I just went a bit more per gallon, 4 oz per gallon so 16 oz in my HF.
There is NO ODOR I can't smell anything from it even at the jug it is not much. I am going to be using it today on some poly blend, and nylon if they are not too bad.
It can be used as a bonnet cleaner so the directions say? Pre spotter if mixed in heavier dose also.
I can say I have used other products from HD that were cleaners and they were junk, tried them and walked the stuff out to the dumpster and tossed them.
This one is not to bad.

Re: ODO BAN Carpet Cleaner?
I checked the MSDS sheet for te 3-1 cleaner.
It DOES contain a crystalizing polymer component to it.
As far as any non-proffessional, moral issues regarding using such a readily available product, I think there should be many additional factors to consider when contemplating any use of such a product, other than only considering it's target market, especially of a "supplemental" product like a deodorizer, as opposed to being a core product like a main prespray where I believe no expense should be spared for what one considers to be the best.
Regardless of ones decision, why anyone would let a customer gain any information regarding any products being used, especially a being a potentially recognizable consumer product, instead of it being portrayed as some "magical", proprietary cocktail you alone have knowledge of, in a generic, unlabeled container.
Good grief, rip the labels off for god's sake if it keeps you up at night.

Re: ODO BAN Carpet Cleaner?
I really don't think it matters about the product, I have never been asked to show what I'm using ever. Even when I dump on the lawn they don't care.
This product kinda reminds me of SnO but not, close but not the same. It is kinda like SnO as far as adding more to make it more potent. I did a job with it yesterday added some Peroxide cleaned like a champ, not overly dirty, did a fine job.
3n1 does a pretty good job, and for @ $ 10.00 bucks a gallon you should at least give it a try.
It is nice just being able to walk in a pick some up if you need some. This job was way overkill for it, but I also did NO prep work just pre spray dwell and rinse with water.4

That's what I'm thinking, now that I hear it's DfE approved.
But how bad does it foam?

Re: ODO BAN Carpet Cleaner?
I searched this stuff on HD website, and only came up with
"OdoBan 1gal. Eucalyptus Odor Eliminator and Disinfectant Multi-Purpose Cleaner Concentrate".
Is this what you guys are talking about?...........I thought it was a specific carpet cleaner, but this looks like a disinfectant?........one chem does it all type thing?
And didn't see anything about it being DfE approved, so makes me think it's something else?
Anyone want to post a link to the carpet cleaner being referred to here?

Re: ODO BAN Carpet Cleaner?
I see where you guys are going with this. It has polymers too. I'll do a dish test to see if its a film forming or a shattering encap.
PS. Ill be coming out with a new Cleaners Lounge cleaning solution soon. I just need to get my label printer working
Anybody have ideas on names for this new cleaners lounge carpet cleaning solution
