I guess I better ask what does the water box do? The old chemtex which will soon be sitting in the garage if no one ever buys it( because the butler will be up and running) . I was thiniking of adding a water box for the water to circulate instead of dumping into the tank when it gets to hot.

That's a good question, I'd also like to know the answer to.

The only TM I've ever owned has a water box, so I always thought that it was a normal necessity until reading otherwise here.

Maybe Eddie can explain this??

Excellent news....the butler is about to hit the streets!

Boost in vacuum and simplicity is always a good thing.

Waterbox is of course to hold water, the main purpose for Prochem machines is to circulate the water when the machine is running, and so that the water in pipes don't get super hot and it cracks the pipes and fittings, that's why there's always a bypass valves ( either 145 deg or 160 or 180 ), if you don't want to dump hot water into the waste tank, all you have to do is re route the bypass valve hose to the extra tank, it's pretty simple actually, Brian if you want you can call me and I can try to explain it to you, you have my cell #, don't you ?

Dp1 is right. The first thing that the water Bx does is it's a 2-3 GAL tank that is a gravity feed tank for the pressure pump.
Second it is a tank that the bypass from the pressure regulator and also the bypass orfcie to keep the water moving in the system so that the temp sensor can control the dump selonid. And in the process of all this this water is HOT being mixed with cold water. The incoming water to the pump can't be over 170 degrees most are around 135 -145 controlled by a temp valve on the box. This helps the unit keep the temperature where you want it and maintain it. That's what makes the hx system work.
Unlike a judson I've got on e I work on that the O/O bypassed the water /mix tank mounted his pressure regulator to the water tank and mixes his chemicals in the water. No feed pump no chem draw no water Bx to over flow. Water goes to the pump then to the heater then to the wand.

Wow, the chemicals will eat the pump seals up in no time when you mix it manually, isn't it ?

That's how a judson works, it draws chem when water is pulled from the water Bx to the pump then to heater. It doesn't have a last step injection system on it. Just make sure your chem is mixed well.
