Post by Matt; My carpet cleaner Sat Nov 14, 2015 5:01 pm

yesterday i was doing an empty rental. the renter showed me a spot that hardened; almost like gum. "can you do anything about that?"
I havent run across anything that big or hard and wasnt sure if i had anything in the van for it.
LO and behold, there is a tube of power gel.(forgot I had any)
so i presprayed that part of the house, doused the spot. it sat for about 15 min.
BAMM!!!!!!! gone.
but it left a slight discolor.
customer was happy. and thats what counts.

So, what is your goto super spotter?

LOL !! That's interesting Razz
I'm really liking my full strength pre spray put in the spray bottle, seems like it got everything out except for stains of course.
Thank you Ken for that suggestion a while back :-)

dp1, you're welcome but I use the dilution the hydroforce has in it. I just refill my hip spray bottle right from the hydroforce.

For the stuff that wont come up with that I am really liking the new stuff also from CTI called Gooff. Really really good solvent spotter.

for hardened stuff I crank the heater and try to melt it out.      wax,  gum,  and playdough usually melt out.

pre spray handles most everything because we always boost with some oxygen..   for the occasional spot either fels bar (in cell phone case on wand),   scissors if its really bad and rock hard, not too big (also strapped to wand)

or we also use power gel for colored dyes

If you ever run into a house that has mass colored stains everywhere,    like maybe the kids are coloring on the carpet...       use a strong D-Limonine pre spray like Flex with citrus solv,    or Natural Orange by hydramaster

the power gel is kind of like a really strong d-lim solvent mix,    so if you mix the d-lim based pre sprays a little extra strong it will work the same way,   then you dont have to bend over and spot every little drawing.

ya flex will really do it if its trashed with pen marks and colored stains, but not the greenest stuff so its only for a rare occasion if the customer wants to make that choice and try to have it all removed.

basically you would be putting that same stuff on so many of the spots so might as well just pre spray it.
