Pet urine jobs? Empty Pet urine jobs?

Post by Devon07 Wed Dec 02, 2015 8:05 am

Anyone have a good guess on what percentages of jobs are Pet/Urine related? I'm getting more than what I think is normal on those calls and was curious how many are common for you guys. Back in the day I would suspect my "norm" was around 15% but as it goes now I'm closer to 30% roughly.

Mine is closer to 3%. It does seem to come in bursts. I do a light smelly job once every 3 weeks or so and a medium smelly job every 3 months or so and about every 9 months I do a heavy smelly job. Nowhere near 30% in any case.

The 30% may be high because its close to the holiday thing....but its about daily right now! Thats why I was asking, I was curious if it was a holiday thing.

Yeah Devon it definitely is event related. People don't want relatives that are visiting to have to endure the odor. Now that its winter doors and windows are staying closed so ventilation isnt as good.

In my area the uptick pet urine jobs come during the monsoon season when the humidity goes way up and the urine starts off gassing but I don't think its 30% although I don't track it.

its the holidays, nobody wants pee stains on their carpet like Mo was saying when family is coming.

also you may have done a good one and the word spread, that happens to us sometimes...

we do a job for a lady that has a few rescue dogs and then she tells several people she knows in the dog rescue community

Numbers are higher in the winter around here....about 15% due to the animals not wanting to go outside to urinate in single digit cold.

Actually, it might be because the owner doesn't want to take the animal out into the single digit cold. Either way, percentage is much higher in the winter.

Just got back late from a big urine job...I asked why they called me to do it....the guy said there is a buzz going around you are the guy for the job.....I heard this before but assumed it was just a compliment...I guess im introducing products and quality that hasent been here for a while. Not that Im all that....some of the competition is just that bad.

That makes me want to move to Oklahoma and be your competitor, lol, j/k.
My percentage is probably around the same as yours during winter / holidays, some of our online reviews mentioned that we are good with pet contaminated carpets, that's why we get quite a few pet jobs.
And we also get quite a few repeat customers with pet urine because they tend to have continuous issues with their pets. Kind of doesn't make sense to me, if I have pets and they continuously urinated on my carpets, they need to go ! Oh well, more money for me banan rocking Money Pile

I've got 2 coming up as well, but they are on concrete slabs, so easy work. So much easier when you can flood them.

If they are cat jobs, don't forget to check the floor vents. A cat that doesn't like the litter box often chooses the vents...must think it goes outside.
