That rug looks like a dhurry(sp) Those are two sided reversible rugs and originally were used as a mat for meditation I think. I have actually washed these rugs in giant machines, you would be pleasantly surprised if you bathed this rug in a tray of solution and rinsed well with speed drying in the sun. You did do a good job at working it as it is though, like Davey says be careful with peroxide but do use it and at this point only use enough to hit the surface and not soak through....you can lighten the surface and do better now. I would blot with a peroxide and sponge for surface only. I wouldn't make a practice of using peroxide on Wool though...a more delicate wool would eat your lunch...more delicate equals more money too.

I did one for a guy and it wasnt an expensive rug but it did match a series of them he had in his bed and breakfast so he wanted to save it....vomit was the problem and it sat for two weeks before he knew of it.....I used Rug Restorer and when I was done it got almost all of it out (area was neutral in color) I wasnt happy so I used an old trick....I used peroxide and an air hose (pressure) to blow it out from the back side. Only a well made tightly woven rug can handle this. I removed 100% and it was as bad or worse than what you have Mo. in the SUN.

Thanks Matt....I cant remember all the names like I could back in the day.

I do identify them though. We specialized is high end rugs! I used to do binding, surging and repairs of unraveled rugs.....we would die and color as well. I dont miss it but fortunately still know how. We cleaned rugs that would weigh more than 4 guys could lift....we would roll them up in a home or business and roll them on to a ladder so 6 or more guys could carry it out. It took us a day to get three rugs out of a house if you can believe that.

When we cleaned them at the plant we would float them on water and one guy could then move the whole un rolled rug....that guy was me.
