When I hit up Google for something, I don't dismiss Adwords ads. IF they are not "corporate" sounding, and are pretty much what I am looking for, I'll click it to see.

I too avoid franchise stuff.

"Corporate sounding" is a good way of putting it.

I really think most people function that way on internet searches.

Yelp is not great, and google adwords is even worse, at least for most cities.

Depends on how you market. And, where you market.

I know what works for where I live. Others usually have a totally different experience.

There is no "one way market plan" for any business. We are all different. Every place has a different response to a given marketing idea.
