How to make money with S/O/O
Hey, guys. I wanted to share some information on how S/O/O has been a very efective and profitable product for me and give some info on how I have promoted it to my customers.
I'm in a very price sensitive market so I give prices over the phone based on rooms. One of the hardest things to price over the phone is deep (water claw) pet treatments- so I don't do it. Here's what I do-- I offer them two options. Here is my phone script for pet issues-
Me- "do you have any issues with pet urine or any other pet related odor?"
Mrs Smith- "yes, we have a small dog that has had some accidents and there is a bit of a smell"
Me- "well we have a couple of different ways to go about dealing with it. We have a topical treatment that will take care of any odor that is in the carpet. This is not a deodorizer, it's a highly effective odor counteractant that kills the smell."
*I will then give her a quote based on how much carpet she needs cleaned @$10 an ounce for S/O/O. This will be added to my pretreatment in my hydroforce.*
"the second option is to do a deep treatment, which will remove any odor that has gone below the carpet and into the pad, this is very difficult to quote without assessing the severity of the odor on site."
*at this point Mrs. Smith has received a quote for a topical pet treatment, and her expectations have been managed by telling her it will only remove the odor in the carpet itself*
My close rate on this is very high, as is customer satisfaction after the job.
I also sell this as a way to manage the smell for people with ongoing pet issues. This will result in higher cleaning frequency (which the customer needs to be educated on) because Mrs. Smith doesn't have sticker shock from a $350 pet treatment. Obviously this may be necessary if the carpet is trashed, but it's way oversold by my competition.
S/O/O is a very unique and powerful product (I couldn't do this with other 'cide products). Take advantage of it. It's a win win for me and the customer because they are getting a lower priced alternative and I am able to get a high ROI. 1 gallon of 100% at my pricing will yield a 1280% return (and happy customers which= referrals.)
Just another tool in the toolbox to making happy customers and keeping your business profitable.

Re: How to make money with S/O/O
Very good strategy Neil. It's all about giving customer options setting expectations and letting them make the decision. S/O/O is the best product out there for odors and it highly concentrated. I have mine coming soon.
Re: How to make money with S/O/O
I use Joedercide all the time. Just got some more 100%.
I compared it to Odorcide's duralast scent. It doesn't last for even 24 hours. It smells ok, but the linger on the Joedercide is fantastic!!!
For the rare complainer that says that the scent is lasting too long, my recommendation is to tell them up front that the scent will linger as long as it needs to, that if you still smell it, its still working. When the malodor is counteracted, it will go away.
I don't have any scientific proof that thats how it lingers, but they don't have any scientific proof to say it doesn't.

I think there's actually some truth to that statement Real Clean. I 've heard that about other Odorcides not sure if that applies to S/O/O.
Re: How to make money with S/O/O
Very nice approach on both suggestions. I will be using both. Thanks guys. Just ordered another case of 100% today.

Re: How to make money with S/O/O
Would anyone be willing to sell a little 4 or 5 oz sample? Are you using this mixed in with your prespray? Or as a post treatment?
What is the dilution rate?

Don't worry about it bud. Payypal will end up hold the 5.00 for 3 months anyways
Re: How to make money with S/O/O
Use it in your PS you could use 4 oz in one HF for a medium odor treatment. You will love it, so will your customers.

I'm a skeptic about s/o/o until I tried it a few days ago, all I can say is WOW ! Amazing product, and I'm super picky about my chemicals. This product is going to make you lots of $$ and lots of repeat businesses.
And I agree with Ryan, I hate cats, especially male cats

Re: How to make money with S/O/O
Let me clarify what some guys are talking about here about the smell lingers, one of the thing that kept me from ordering soo is I'm afraid about the lingering smell, in my mind it's super strong odor neutralizer, well after I used it in 2 of my nastiest jobs this week, it did not linger on me, the way I did it is I use as little as possible and on certain areas where I feel could use higher concentration, I added accordingly, and don't let it sit for too long before you extracted, I wanna say max 30 minutes dwell time, so far I let it sit for 15 minutes and it serves it's purpose.
And it's not strong smell, it kinda smells like fresh powder, very pleasant smell, I'm a fan.

Re: How to make money with S/O/O
Maybe I shouldn't admit this or tell the story....oh, heck with it.
In the Marines, we used to have barracks inspections every Friday morning and I mean inspection. The inspectors would walk the decks checking each room while wearing white gloves. One was even known to lie down on the floor and make snow angels in a white t-shirt to check for dust!! If you failed the inspection, your liberty was secured for the weekend and you had to re-clean everything.
All those years, I always passed without a single hit. The point of this story is how I was always able to pass. I would spend hours stripping and re-waxing the floors until they shined like glass. Then I would mist the curtains heavily with pine-sol. That was it, I never cleaned another part of the room.
When the inspector would open the door, he would see a floor that looked like water and be hit with a very strong scent of pine-sol. Not one ever felt the need to inspect farther, believing that the room was well cleaned.
Odors in a room are largely in the mind of the person entering. Every cleaner understands that to rid an odor, you need to remove the source, but many forget to deal with the psyche of the customer and what they are expecting. That is where an odor job can really fail.
S/O/O is strong stuff and it does linger, but those are good things. To a customer that remembers the foul odor, that new scent will reinforce their confidence that you solved the problem. It is a nice "clean" scent and I haven't found anyone that objected to it yet.
Might even want to dab a little on the base of a curtain or two....

That's a very interesting story Robert. And very true indeed, however there's always one person that has a problem with that new good smelling odor, either the husband or the wife or the in lawsmilspec6 wrote:Maybe I shouldn't admit this or tell the story....oh, heck with it.

Bump.
Ordered a case of 100% from Joe last week.
A very unique product that a small percentage of cleaners are using. Separate yourself from your competition with it.
